Incredible tacos - Edit
Small place with only 8 seats. We tried about 6-8 tacos and they were all amazing. Great taste and some great ideas for vegan tacos!
Read moreWe did the workshop the next day. You get to watch the chef make and cook the tacos while he describes them to you. So it’s not hand-ons. You of course get to taste 6 tacos in the end! Then he sends you the recipes. It was 3

Todos fueron sabrosos, mi favorito fue tacos de la milpa. La segunda vez, yo fui con mi amiga y probé tacos de Chile relleno y alambre. Me gustó mucho el taco de chile relleno. Nosotras también comimos los dos postres una tarta de fruta con crema y la otra de chocolate y nueces. La tarta de chocolate fue tannnn rico. Honestamente, toda la comida en herbívora es increíble y los trabajadores son INCREÍBLES (el chef recomendó un bar para nosotras y fue bueno también). ¡Ven a Herbívora!
English: I went here twice during my visit to Oaxaca, I tried 5 types of tacos: de la milpa, placero, milanesa, chille relleno, and alambre. My favorite was tacos de la milpa hands down. The staff is incredibly friendly, and gave me great recommendations. But please try and order in Spanish, even if you have to use google translate to help you. I respect the staff, they are lovely people, don't subject them to your linguistic supremacy and yes this is coming from a gringa.

Came in here and had a great time. Their tacos are tasty and the service was good and the staff were really welcoming. It's pretty small (maybe 8 seats?) so not somewhere to go in a big group.

Great range of tacos, I ordered the Barbacoa (okay), chorizo (delicious but very spicy!!) and the milanesa. Loved the milanesa so much I then ordered a second!! Very affordable and freshly made, kind service.

A hole in wall with no sign but they greet you warmly and produce made to order incredible tacos. You can sit at the counter and see them prepare your food.

Best tacos I've had in Mexico so far! I recommend booking ahead for the tasting (you can try small versions of every flavour!). We didn't get a chance to do that but the ones we tried were great! The lions mane milanesa was the highlight, the chicharron was just okay.

Tiny, cozy restaurant. If you are there early, it’s much easier to get a table. We were actually the only two people there for most of our dinner. If you decide to come early, it’s quite easy to miss the entrance, because the door might still be closed.

We sat in at this tiny restaurant and tried almost everything on the menu - everything was delicious and the service was great. They even had tarts for dessert which were great too. Highly recommend!

I was very excited to try Herbivora and they did not disappoint! The food was incredibly delicious (my favs were the fish taco and chorizo tacos).

Sadly, I have no pictures to share as my non-PB friends snapped up those tacos before I had a chance! If that’s not a reason to visit then what is?
Pros: Papa con chorizo & the Milanesa tacos, Great staff, The salsa is spicy! 😝
Cons: Tiny space so not many seats, It’s popular so prepare for a bit of a wait

Delicious, imaginative, and nourishing! I ordered each of the specials (some with hash browns and mushrooms!) and was also offered some very tasty desserts which I lapped up. Definitely recommend finding this place if you're vego/vegan as it can be hard to find tacerías that will cater/alter their menu options.

Was really craving Tacos but noticed that a lot of places are closed on sundays. So was very excited to find out about Herbivora. I really like the design of the place and that you could look over the Chefs shoulder while he cooks. We had the Milanesa, Pastor, Barbacoa and Papa Con Chorizo. The definitely best were the Milanesa and Papa Con Chorizo. The vegan mayo really held the taste and crunch of boths Tacos together. Amazing. Barbacoa was also quite good and our least favorite was the Pastor. Overall good experience. Would go again.

We were the only ones in so it felt like we had our own private chef. The tacos were made quickly and were delicious, special shout out to the papa con chorizo taco which was our favourite. They also offer taco making workshops on request.

Cool menu but not so good in execution - some parts were a bit burnt, some lacked flavour. It was hot and a bit stuffy inside from the cooking smoke. We think it is probably better on less busy evenings!
