Lovely vegetarian restaurant. Almost all not naturally vegan options can be made vegan on request. Both vegan and vegan on request is clearly marked. Delicious food & desserts. Very friendly service.

Always have wonderful food here, it never fails to deliver. Lots of vegan options for all courses. The staff are delightful too. Always come to Herbies when in Exeter even though there are lots of other places. It's a classic 👌

Although tasty, the portions were just too big; I feel that sometimes excessive portions are a way of justifying lower quality food and I would've been happier with a slightly smaller bowl that left me satisfied but not uncomfortable. I can definitely eat a fair amount but I'd say maybe a 1/3 less (still a generous serving) would've left me savouring the food more and could help reduce food waste for customers who can't finish their meal in one sitting.
Read moreYes, it was tasty and felt home-cooked (this is a positive, I really enjoyed the personal touches in my bowl!) but it wasn't extraordinary, perhaps because it felt like a battle to finish it. The presentation was very thoughtful and the staff were nice.
Sometimes more is more but sometimes less can be more, so Herbies should be more confident in their abilities or perhaps give options for small, medium and large plates.

Came here for my birthday. My boyfriend and I had the Mediterranean dipping board to start and we had the Moroccan tagine and falafel wrap as our mains. The food was wonderful, proper portions, tasty and fulfilling and for really affordable prices as well.

Stopped off in Exeter en route to Cornwall and after negotiating the traffic light challenge that is the centre found Herbies. There is on-street parking, free after six, and we parked with no problems. Cosy interior with plenty of room when we arrived but filled up very quickly. The menu is vast. Most of the food is vegan or can be adapted. The food that we had was all fantastic and lovingly presented. Three courses all great. The Buddha bowl was possibly the best I have had. With a lot of elements. Very good. Nice fruit crumble to finish. Highly recommended.

A fantastic space with great energy - Edit
I enjoyed a business lunch here. The staff, who were attentively kind, and exceptionally thoughful made this stay here what it was. That said, the delicious food with its flavourism punch made it really nice as well. I would recommend this space to anyone who would like to recieve a warm welcome, and exceptional food, presented and made with great care.

Found Herbies on Happy Cow on a visit to Exeter and was overwhelmed by the amazing choice of vegan dishes on the menu. How fabulous to have to agonise over what to eat in a restaurant! 😂 My lasagne was delicious...if only i had had room for desert! Would DEFFO come again if im ever in Exeter...super impressed 😁😁x
