Full of flavour!! - Edit
What a lovely woman, definitely an out of the way venue, but very worth it. The food was so full of different flavours, and I left feeling very full.

One of Cebu’s Best - Edit
This little cafe in Cebu’s University district packs authenticity, options, flavor, and value into the dining experience. The ambience is a bit claustrophobic, hot, and cafeteria-like, but it was a pleasure to have delicious vegan options to choose from.

Possibly the best vegan option in Cebu - Edit
Quite a small restaurant, easily missed in an alley, but it packs a big punch. In a city with few vegan options, Healthy U really stands out.
Read moreThey prepare several dishes which are served in a sort of buffet style: you order one of several combos, which each give you rice with your pick of some mock meats, vegetables, and sides. All that I tried was tasty and came in big, filling portions. Price is excellent as well.
Great for breakfast or lunch especially. I'd advise going early, as options get sparse and kinda cold later in the day. Opening and closing hours seem a little unreliable. Several signs and labels indicate that it is entirely vegan, and they said as much when I asked, though some previous reviews suggest there may be some eggs used (not sure).

Persevering - Edit
This little restaurant has a range of precooked food to pick from. All vegan, lots of mock meat. Basically ten-twelve options - pick one veggie and one “meaty”.
Read moreThis is the cheapest vegan place you’ll ever go to. $2 for a meal. We visited post typhoon and with pandemic wave 3 under way. They’re still up and running so credit to the.
The food was just fine. Not amazing - mock meat and Filipino dishes is hard to carry off as they really need the pork.
Anyway extra star for struggling through and still providing best value.
Pros: Super cheap, A good array of dishes
Cons: Not well heated food

Highly Affordable - Edit
Enjoyed their budget meals! Mine came with a main, a salad, rice and soup. This place is a cafeteria type of restaurant with vegan and vegetarian choices. You should not be expecting a lot, being the type of resto it is, but I would say the place is decent enough.

Disappointed :( - Edit
I went yesterday, 19th Feb - around lunch time and to my surprise no one was there. Not sure if it was closed since there's no signage, I also checked their Fb and it's not updated, not sure if they are still on business.

Typical Filipino veggie carinderia - Edit
Actually its more of the canteen type than a restaurant. It is located in a road besides passing Jeepney. I met the owner of this named EBJ. He is kind, warm, hospitable and corteous. They have variety of locally cooked food. I notice the canteen wall has lots of Menu poster in Tarpauline type but unfortunately when you order them its out of stock. Why put the menu on the wall if its not available? Im just curious...
Read moreThe location is far from downtown area. You have to tell the Jeepney driver or Taxi driver to drop you at Southwestern University then after that you have to find Tormis St. Barangay Sambag 1 in Cebu is big so you have to ask the locals. It's the easiest way.
Food - Fair
Price - very good. good for backpackers and in a tight budget
Service Staff- poor. The owner needs to orientate them for proper hygiene, food handling and good quality customer service.
Location - Fair. If your phone has GPS use it.
note: Shiv Dal Roti (pure vegetarian) Indian food restaurant is just besides Healthy U.
Pros: good value, variety of choice, owner is kind
Cons: location is far from downtown, poor staff service

Vegan Karendaria - Edit
They offered 6+ dishes, 1 soup, white rice, 1 juice, and vegan cookie. We tried 5 out of the 6 dishes and really liked the potato curry. I also liked the vegan cookie, though it was a bit dry.
Read moreUnless you go to Southwestern or live near here, it is a bit difficult to find. However, it is good that it is right next to Shiv Dal Roti (vegetarian).
This is a typical Filipino karendaria style place. The food is already prepared and you can pick which dish you want. There is no a/c so it may be warm or hot. If you are not used to traveling in Asia and eating street food, please be warned, and take probiotics to avoid any possible intestinal issues.
There were signs that said they offered other items, but apparently they don't make them anymore. And they did not have fresh soymilk or tofu, as described in the info about this restaurant.
Pros: pretty good, vegan
Cons: hard to find, no a/c
