Beware! Questionable model; gave us dairy by accident - Edit
We initially went into H veggie thinking it was another well known Vietnamese vegan brand. The resemblance is uncanny - the same style of layout and ordering system, even the same window stickers and posters on the walls, the same water cooler style (all pictured). We immediately thought this restaurant must be affiliated.

[all of this review is for information purposes, and my own opinion]
Draw your own conclusions, but we disliked that they appear very similar to the successful model of another company without affiliation or credit given, and without the vegan ideals. It seems on closer inspection that this copying may not have been intentional, but more because Hveggie moved into the old premises of the chain we thought it belonged to.
Hveggie also served us dairy after we asked for oat milk in a latte; which totally goes against our ethics. I ate the creamy mushroom spaghetti (vegan) and couldn’t finish it because it was seemingly just a veggie dish where the cream/ milk/ cheese had been subbed out for oat milk. It was objectively bad tasting and bland.
The rest of what we were served was okay. But we won’t be returning.

Adorable café, witth a view on the street. Very calm and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My coffee was.. AMAZING! I don’y usually drink cold coffees, but this one, like a coconut frappé, was just perfection.

Lovely restaurant where you can sit on the first floor and enjoy the city vibes. We had two bowls, 2 juices and coldbrew and everything was just perfect. The fruit was so fresh.

Good range of breakfasts - Edit
This place is situated in the Old Quarter and has a good range of vegan options that are clearly labelled. The waiter taking my order double checked if I wanted the veggie or vegan option. I tried some savoury stuff (panini) and found it bland, but the breakfasts looked great.

I recently visited hveggie, the new vegetarian restaurant that just opened in 06 Lan Ong. While the food itself was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting, I couldn’t shake the unsettling backstory surrounding this establishment.
Read moreFrom what I’ve heard and read, H-v allegedly took over the space of a beloved vegan shop, IVG, and replicated their menu, design, and even their business model. If these claims are true, it raises serious ethical concerns about how this restaurant came to be. Supporting local businesses, especially in the vegan and vegetarian community, is incredibly important to me, and I find it disheartening to think that this new restaurant may have undermined another small business to get ahead.
That said, the food itself was well-prepared and flavorful. I tried the smoothie bowl, which was similar with IVG smoothie bowl. The presentation was appealing, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, knowing the potential history of how this restaurant came to be makes it difficult for me to fully enjoy the experience.
I hope H-v can address these concerns and clarify the situation. Transparency and integrity are just as important as good food, especially in a community that values ethical practices. Until then, I’ll be cautious about supporting this establishment and will continue to seek out businesses that align with my values.

I recently came across HVG and was shocked by how similar their branding and products are to iVegan. From their logo design to their product packaging, it looks like a cheap imitation rather than an original business.

I recommend sticking with the original iVegan or doing thorough research before purchasing from this copycat brand. Hopefully, they’ll rebrand with something unique in the future

Had a top notch smoothie bowl here, highly recommend you go here for breakfast/brunch if you are vegan/veg. Head up to the second floor and you can look out over the street while you eat.

We stopped here during tet while almost no other restaurant was open.

The bowl was not bad, maybe 7/10, but the pasta was a 5/10 at best.
The prices shown outside were not the same as the menu inside. Everything was about 10k higher than outside. Not a huge deal, but not the most transparent way to go about raising prices.
Added with the other concerns listed by other reviewers on here, we won't be coming back.
You can do worse, but also much better for less.
Not really recommended unless you're in a bind. 😐
