We've had many very pleasant lunches and dinners at Gijs in the past. But lately (don't know exactly since when) things have changed. What's on the menu is not very refined or tasty any more. Last time the vegetables were almost raw (one could hardly cut through the big pieces of cauliflower) and it seemed that things on the plates did not really belong together. Geluncht bij Gys. De kapsalon was erg smakelijk, fijn ook dat deze met tempeh was gemaakt ipv met imitatie-shoarma. Verse ingrediënten, bediening vlot en vriendelijk.

Een ander nadeel is dat het er erg druk is (wat op zich positief is), je zit nogal dicht op elkaar en ondanks de geluidsdemping tegen het plafond is het er erg lawaaiig. #Veganuary

De prijs van de kapsalon ligt inderdaad iets hoger dan de andere gerechten op de lunchkaart omdat het eigenlijk een gerecht van onze avondkaart is. Het is een erg populair gerecht dus daarom hebben we besloten om hem ook op de lunchkaart te zetten. Hopelijk geeft dit antwoord op je vraag :-).
Mocht je in het vervolg een wat rustigere plek willen hebben zou je ook eens naar onze locatie op de Amsterdamsestraatweg kunnen gaan! Die ligt buiten het centrum waardoor het daar over het algemeen een stuk rustiger is.
We hopen je snel nog een keertje bij ons terug te zien en normaals dankjewel voor je review!

Very nice place to enjoy a tasty vegan lunch. Four stars as they’ve furnished the place to its maximum capacity, making it hard to access some tables even (less cosy, more hyperaware that it’s a business transaction).

Love that Gys is completely vegan now, and that it's organic as well! We had a vegan high tea with friends. Not a typical high tea, but the food was very good; first 3 savory dishes from the menu and then 3 sweets. Nice presentation as well. Good service even though it was very busy.
