Soooo lecker - Edit

Very Familiar, Safe, But Unimaginative, Veggie Food - Edit
Late review but Green Earth was a solid addition to our eating tour of Osaka. Proclaiming itself to be the oldest vegetarian option in Osaka, there is something very reminiscent of the Chinese-style vegetarian restaurants that I've frequented a lot in Malaysia. There's no onion or garlic in the dishes and they're mostly on the basic, no-frills side of things.
Read moreThere are a lot of good value choices for meals. The lunch set we ordered, seems to have the same key components each time but the main star of the dish seems to vary depending on when you visit. When we were there, it was a garbanzo burger, which, although a bit plain, was filling. Put together with a salad, rice and some pickles, it was a good lunch option. We also ordered the tempe bowl, where again, had it a bit more flavour or imagination to it, would be something to rave about. As it was, it was pleasant and filling.
The menu has a variety of western dishes and simpler offers such as noodles and curries, so there are definitely choices for the fussy eaters in the family (ours went with ramen!).
The decor and the interior are definitely more, shall we say, traditional? The vibe is definitely that of going around to your grandparents to eat. The staff also had the same welcoming, "take-care-of-you" approach that you'd get when visiting relatives. It was quite nice and again, very familiar.
I don't know if Green Earth is worth a trip if it would involve going out of your way, but if like us, you're staying close by, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you were to allocate one of your meals here.

Pros: Lunch Sets Are Filling And Good Value, Kid-Friendly Options On The Menu, Really Attentive And Pleasant Staff
Cons: Food-Wise, Lacks Anything Truly Unique/Different, Flavours Might Be A Bit Subtle/Unseasoned For Some

top rec in the area - Edit
It has a unique, nice retro Kissa vibe. All vegan! Meal of the day is very healthy, but you also have pizzas, pasta, banana shake, classical Kissa menus. Recommend the pumpkin cake! Even found they had flyers about the dolphin trade, so grabbed a few to post back in Tokyo.

Great options and nice staff - Edit
We arrived after the lunch special had finished. They did tell us we could have the lunch special anyway but I’d decided on a “dog sandwich” which was bbq soy meat. It was served with a salad which I enjoyed and the kombucha was lovely. My partner enjoyed the eggplant curry and Carob smoothie.

I have nothing but nice things to say about this place - the chef (who is very particular about apple pie) served us and was a delight, all of the staff were. The foot itself was beautiful. It felt healthy but uncompromising in its taste, like a beautifully prepared (with love) home cooked meal.

Delicious reasonbly priced vegan meals - Edit
It’s difficult to find purely vegan restaurants and cafes in Japan outside Tokyo that don’t feel like tourist traps. Green Earth doesn’t feel like one. Their daily meals are priced at ¥1,100 (which will change on July 1st). Their bbq hotdog set and soy karaage don are both less than ¥1,000 (which will also chnge on Jly 1st). And their cheese cake costs ¥650. On top of being less expensive than others, their dishes were really tasty and delicious, and the cheese cake was so heavenly. The one that I like the most is their karaage don.

A really good option in Osaka for lunch. The bowls are an excellent comfort food option, even if you ask for the deep-fried soy with rice and salad. I didn't try the special lunch set however I want to return for that.
