Lot of options but expensive

Think convenience store but vegan, it has a wide range of product that are hard to find anywhere else, but the prices are on the higher end.
Bonus point for the bakery section which has the best vegan pain au chocolat I’ve had!

Pros: Lot of choice, Rare products, Good pastries

Cons: Expensive

No real point

Small shop with a bunch of plant based snack items. With the exception of the junkfoods, there's more vegan selection at a regular groccery store or healthfood store. Almost everything has palm oil it.

Cons: Almost everything contains palm

It’s a vegan grocery store; what more needs to be said

Can’t say I’ve ever been to a fully vegan grocery store before and I was so excited when I saw this place on HappyCow. It certainly lives up to my expectations of having a great selection of tasty, healthy and rare vegan treats and items, albeit a bit pricy (but that’s to be expected). Wish I could stay longer in this city so I could try more of the products!

Nice little shop

I’m so glad we could stop here during our short visit to Toronto. They have all kinds of vegan goodies that are unavailable where I live or hard to come by. Worth a visit!

Pros: Unique vegan products

Cons: Pricey

Great selection, a bit pricey

Definitely more of a specialty store, but is a great one-stop location that has a lot of hard to find things

Glad this place exists!

Can be pricy, but they source a lot of vegan products before they’re widely available, and some things I can only find there. I’m just so happy to have this selection nearby.

Pros: Variety, Rare products

Cons: Some things are more expensive here

Amazing shop

They offer a huge variety of vegan 'special' products like vegan tuna, 2 fridges of vegan cheese, egg replacer, baking stuff, vegan meat and bacon, some baked goods (e.g. croissants, chocolate crossiants) and so much more!! Super friendly stuff, will come back for sure!

Pros: All vegan

cute store

Very cute store. I do wish it was more of a full fledged grocery store, but I did notice last time I was there they introduced a bit of produce which is awesome. Lots of cool products to try that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Heaven for veggie grocery shopping

I was so happy when I discovered this place not far from my house! There is really everything you might need for your cooking, plus a small selection of cosmetics/toiletries. Their croissants and pains au chocolat... OMG. I want to buy just EVERYTHING in this store. And the staff are super friendly and helpful.
The prices are a bit higher and sometimes you can get the same stuff cheaper in supermarkets.

Pros: Wide range of products, Friendly staff, Part of your money goes for good causes

Cons: Expensive

Only Vegan Grocery in T.O.

After Panacea closed, I didn't think it would be possible to open another vegan grocery store. Yet here they are! Wide range of vegan products available in one place. Fresh sandwiches. Friendly staff. If you are vegan you need to support!

Pros: All vegan, vegan owned, Super friendly, Great selection

Cons: Mark up is more than discount health food stores.

Lovely staff and good selection

A bit out of the way but worth it for those specialist requirements. As a bonus, it's reasonably priced and the staff are so sweet. They also sell clothes as well as food.

Pros: Staff, Selection

Cons: Location

Great Selection, Over Priced

I want to support them more, I get how tough it is to keep afloat in a vegan market like this. They have a fantastic selection of stuff you can't get anywhere else, but their markup is sometimes nuts.

If you have the scratch please check them out. They're good people. But if your budget is tight you can get some of what they offer cheaper elsewhere.

Pros: Loads of rare vegan goods, Helpful staff

Cons: Expensive

An ALL VEGAN Store on Dundas West!

It's so good to have an all-vegan store back in Toronto. I mourned the closing of the vegan store on Bloor (don't remember the name) and the vegan store on St-Laurent in Montreal, so it seems like a tricky business mode to pull off long-term. I hope Good Rebel can go the distance!

First, the good: I walked in here and literally found no fewer than THREE products that I'd been looking for at various health food stores across the city (and beyond) for MONTHS. If there's a vegan thing that you can't find elsewhere, they might just have it here. (For the record, the things I was looking for were Field Roast Fieldburgers—the best veggie burgers around—Silk Hazelnut Almond Creamer, and the new Go Max Go bar, 2fer (based on Twix). You better believe I walked out of there with a smile on my face and my backpack full of fulfilled vegan dreams.

I really like the Good Rebel merch that they have had made: the hats with their "chick" logo are really nice, and the "TOFU VS EVERYBODY" (a take on the "TORONTO VS EVERYBODY" shirts you see everyone wearing around the city) are clever and awesome. I wasn't expecting "exclusives" of this variety when I walked in, so it was a cool surprise! I wouldn't mind seeing more vegan shirts (BEET X BEET, Compassion Co, Herbivore) in the future.

The downside, which you might expect, is that prices are going to run a bit higher than you might encounter at a health food store in Kensington. You probably aren't going to grab your staples here, but just those items you can't get elsewhere. That said, Dandies marshmallows were actually priced lower than I'd EVER seen them anywhere else ($3.15 a bag, including the pumpkin-flavoured ones!). The shelves are also not bursting with stuff just yet, but it's new and I'm more than willing to give them time!

I don't often get to this part of town—Dundas West, between Landsdowne and Ossington—but whenever I do, I'll stop in Good Rebel every time from now on.

Pros: A lot of products you won't find anywhere else, Super nice owners, Great neighbourhood

Cons: Mostly pretty expensive, Lots of items you can get at any health food store
