Very tasty vegan food options

It is great to be able to have a vegan meal while my non vegan friend can enjoy delicious Thai food. There are quite a few options but I think a couple more of the dishes could also be veganised.

Affordable quality food

Cozy thai restaurant with nice staff. They can veganize some of their dishes (it‘s written on the menu in Korean). I tried the vegan chicken curry and they told me the vegan chicken is made out of pressed beans. It was very delicious and I wanna come back to try the other dishes too.

Amazing food

Even when not a vegan restaurant, the staff is very friendly and helpful in making vegan versions of their menu. They mention it even on their menu in Korean.
Had the stir fried noodles and papaya salad which were both amazing. Was also offered a vegan soy sauce. #Veganuary

Pros: Amazing food, Friendly and helpful

Cons: Small (vegan) menu

Yum Thai in Seoul

Staff readily understood vegan, and the menu pointed out what could be made vegan. Got the chicken green curry and a beer, very delicious. Perfect level of spice for a cold winter's night. Staff were lovely.

Pros: Yum. , Multiple options.

Nice food

They have a total of four dishes that can be made vegan. I ordered the green curry and the papaya salad. The salad was really good and spicy. However, the green curry could have had some more flavor to it. I was really impressed with the imitation/substitute chicken they used with pressed beans. It was really hard to tell the difference upon looking but taste wise it could be told.

Delicious thai food

This small restaurant offers 4 Vega mixed versions of Thai dishes: pad Thai, curry, papaya salad and a vegan chicken dish. I got the pad Thai and it was delicious. The flavors were fresh with lots of nuts and vegetables. They also incorporated soy meats in the dish. Overall a really comfy spot.

Flavourful vegan Thai

Go Thai is a small but cosy Thai restaurant with a vegan menu. They offer three vegan items so far and thankfully they’ve chosen to veganise some of the classics including Pad Thai, Chicken Green Curry and Spicy Papaya Salad. You’ve gotta look through the menu and find the items that can be made vegan marked with “비건 옵션 주문 가능합니다” at the bottom.

I think what makes Go Thai’s menu really good for vegans is they use a very realistic meat substitute in their Pad Thai and Chicken Green Curry - so similar that we had to check with staff that they’d actually served us the vegan version. AND they don’t charge you any more for it.

The Pad Thai was definitely the best - very nutty, satisfying and savoury. A great balance of chili and peanut - the real umami combination.

The Chicken Green Curry was nice too - quite spicy and had lots of aubergines (eggplant), mushrooms and green beans in it along with the vegan chicken.

I’d actually never had Papaya salad before going vegan so I can’t compare it to the traditional version but this one was really nice. Light, refreshing and crunchy (as I’m told it should be!) and balances out the other dishes really well.

I’d recommend getting all three if there’s two of you. OR two pad Thais and the salad if you’re more of a fried food fan.
