Well Hello Bulgaria 🇧🇬

Morning after a late flight. First time in country. Needed a Vegan coffee/breakfast. Had my first Banista (pear, walnut). OMG delicious 😋

Pros: Several vegan option pastries, Plant Milks (Soya, Almond, Coconut), Very friendly staff 🙂

Amazing food, really nice staff

Had the potato and thyme and mushroom potato banitsas and they were both amazing. A bit too small for the price you pay, but still worth it. They weren’t at all greasy (like most banitsas) but they weren’t too dry either. Amazing! Also had some chocolate chip cookies that tasted like Christmas and I also got a free energy bar thrown in. Would definitely go again.

Best breakfast ever

The apple, cinnamon and brown sugar banitsa was amazing - I wanted to buy another one but was too embarrassed cos I'd already bought so much. The sugar caramelised over the pastry and the apple was tender and the walnuts added a beautiful crunch. The fresh orange juice was the nicest I've had. The mushroom and potato banitsa was really nice too, but I liked the sweet one more. I also got the pumpkin and chocolate chip cookie which my friends loved but I'm not sure how I feel about cinnamon in a cookie! Lovely place though, friendly staff and the orange juice is a must! Hope I can go back!

Awesome Vegan breakfast place

Came here for 3 days breakfasts on our stay in Sofia. The espressos, juice and vegan Banitsa’s are delicious and perfect for a quick authentic breakfast. My favourites were the savoury banitsa’s. Well worth a try.

Good for trying local food

It was nice to be able to try banitsa. On my visit there were 5 vegan banitsa's (out of 19 total). The sweet onces were a bit too sugary for my liking but the curry lentil one was very delicious. We also bought a walnut sourdough bread which I really liked.
Vegan options all clearly labelled.

Plantbased milk options: coconut, almond and soy.

Guy serving us was very friendly and spoke English well

How to fall in love with banitsa

Cozy place with friendly, english speaking staff. I tried vegan banitsas - they have salty versions (potatoes, carrot, herbs, mushrooms..), or sweet (with apples/pumpkin and nuts etc. ) Very delicious, I hope I will go to Sofia and Furna again one day! 💚

Pros: At least 3-4 vegan banitsas, Plant milk option (for coffee), Friendly and english speaking staff

Super

Lovely little cafe, run by friendly people. Quite a few vegan options. We had soup which was lovely. But we didn't get there until the afternoon so it was only warm. Hot soup would be better. We also tried the vegan potato Banitsas which were really tasty, and only 3lv each. They also make vegan bread, muffins and protein bars. All good prices too. Didn't try their coffee, but they have plant milks. Also have some products to buy.

Pros: Lots of vegan choices, Lovely Banitsas and soup, Friendly staff, good value for money

Cons: Soup late in the day isn't hot

Recommended bakery

Furna has been opened years ago, but lately become a vegan friendly spot. For a long time they offered only sweet vegan banitsa and I have asked them why not start doing other types. Currently they offer 3-4 vegan banitsa and other things. The bread and the rest of the products are well-priced, lower than similar shops.

Pros: Quality, Delicious, Prices

Cons: The location is a little bit outside of the center

Beautiful banitsa

The vegan banitsa are very tasty here! We tried a sweet one and savoury one and both were delicious. They have vegan milk for coffee, but the coffee had the weirdest taste ever. We couldn’t drink it. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, but we didn’t have the heart to raise the coffee issue with them so I have no idea if it was just a one off.

Pros: Delicious banitsa, Friendly staff

Cons: Coffee was not good

Great food

Tried the vegan banitsas, they were great. There were 4 vegan flavours and we tried 3 of them. They weren’t hot, but it didn’t matter they were still tasty. The staff were really friendly and my vegetarian family has some croissants which they said they enjoyed

The best vegan banitsa in town

Amazing food. They have a total of three vegan banitsas - one savory and two sweet ones. It's obvious that they use only ingredients with excellent quality.

Cosy atmosphere, even if it is a bit tiny inside.

Great cafe with Banitsa

The reason to come is definitely for the pastries, namely the banitsa. It is very good with several different filings, a number of them vegan.

You can order in English, and most of the lables on the different pastries have English descriptions.

Vegan banitsa's are well marked. Try the pumpkin, walnut and brown sugar filling.

Coffee is also quite good. They have soy, almond and coconut milk to choose from.

Pros: Vegan banitsa, Vegan milks, English menu

Absolutely fabulous!!

I am a vegan who's also allergic to soy, but there are four banitsas I can try so of course I order them all and they're all delicious! I also got the vegan muffin and hot chocolate made with coconut milk. Quite a perfect start to my morning.

Pros: cute spot, friendly staff, traditional pastries

Perfect little bite

Bakery/cafe with 4 vegan "banitsas" (see photo). 2 sweet, 2 savoury. Really really tasty, especially the sweet one (apple and something). About 2.5-3 lev each, would probably need 2 or 3 of them for a whole meal.
