How to survive Fukui as a vegan - Edit
As the only vegan restaurant near Fukui station, it was worth it! We tried going during lunch but they were full; we returned for dinner before they closed and we were glad we did. The food was wonderful!

Only 5 Minutes walk from JR Station Fukui West Exit. True vegan place considering a wholesome sustainable approach like organic, regional and plastic free enviroment. We loved the mugsize matcha latte! :)

Cozy Vegan Lunch - Edit
Currently the only all vegan spot in all of Fukui prefecture, Fukamidori really hits the spot!
Read moreWe got the weekly pumpkin croquette lunch plate. and it was quite delicious and filling! For dessert we had the almond pudding and matcha azuki tiramisu with black coffee and hojicha tea. Really good!
It was obvious that the food was prepared with a lot of care, and I was happy to see that the cafe seemed quite popular!

nice atmosphere - Edit
I got there around 5 pm and unfortunaletely the kitchen has already stopped serving dishes at that hour. However the smoothie I had ordered was simply delicious, if a bit costly. The cafe has a wide choice of vegan drinks with multiple types of coffe, tea and smoothies to pick from. It's a bit difficult to find - the cafe is situated in a back alley, but is quite spacious thanks to that. Overall I think it's a very nice place for all vegans in Fukui

Freshest vegan food in Japan - Edit
This cafe has been a lifesaver for me. Being a vegetarian who is living in the countryside, there are not many options for me when I want to eat out.
Read moreThe vegetables here are extremely fresh and you can taste the individual flavor of each vegetable. Something unique about this vegan cafe is that the owner changes her menu once a week, changing the weekly dish. The portion sizes are quite large, especially her vegan plates. The plates come with a salad, main dish, rice, soup and organic coffee or tea.
The cafe is well known for their smoothies. I usually get the chocolate banana smoothie, which consists of no extra sugar, except for the sugar in the banana. It tastes almost like a chocolate milkshake! A lot of her smoothies also have avacodo in them giving them a smooth, buttery texture. I highly recommend trying a smoothie from this cafe.
The interior of the cafe is very nice. It almost seems like a modern coffee shop you would have seen in New York City. The only downside is that it is quite small.
They do have an English menu and the owner can speak some English.
Overall, this is one of the best vegan cafes in Japan; the vegetables are organic, fresh and flavorful and the smoothies are top notch. Because the cafe is quite small, they do run out of food quickly, but their desserts and smoothies are always available no matter how crowded.

Pros: Completely vegan, Fresh, organic vegetables, high quality vegan food
Cons: Small cafe, run out of food quickly

Thanks a lot for such a thorough review. I'm adding this little gem to my list of vegan shops in Japan. For anyone else who wants to do the same, though, you might find the Google Maps location is juuust a bit off. The English address places you right at a clothing store (La Vie Riche) but the actual place (based on photos and Smilingsunflower's description) appears to be on the other side of the same block, marked in Japanese: 深緑
