Great variety of vegan and gluten free options - Edit
While I initially was looking to eat at a fully vegan restaurant, I ate here due to eating with non-vegan family members but was happy I did. For an omni restaurant they had one of the biggest plant based selections that I’ve seen so I was pleasantly surprised. Each section on the menu had a plant based section after, and most items can be made gluten free as well. As a gluten free vegan I had a decent amount of options plus they use a dedicated fryer so I was even able to enjoy the shroomy “calamari” which I highly recommend! I’d definitely go back.

Chocolate turtle cake ❤️ - Edit
I keep thinking about the chocolate turtle cake. My partner and I split the classic vegan breakfast and the chocolate turtle cake and had to have help finishing the cake. The hash browns were nice and crispy and the scramble and vegan sausage was tasty. We went again and split the cowboy burger with fries and the berry cream tart. We sat at the tables in front of the cafe for both meals.

Several vegan options - Edit
Several vegan options and a few gluten free vegan options. I love how everything on the menu was clearly marked if it was vegan or GF. A cute cafe. I had a curry that was vegan and GF. It was okay. It had a lot of cabbage in it and a few other veggies. The sauce was also a off and I usually love curries. I would rate the dish a 1 out of 5. I would not recommend it, but would go back to try something else. The waitress was nice.

Plenty of "Plant" (Vegan) Options! - Edit
This was my second time dining at this location, and both times have been quite enjoyable! The vegan pastries and vegan breakfast plates are up there with the best Minneapolis has to offer. I particularly enjoyed the Vegan Breakfast Burrito Vegan Chocolate Banana Scone. I will have to come back for brunch next and try one of their specialty cocktails!

Great Vegan/GF - staple for Mpls vegans - Edit
My family has been going to French Meadow for years, even before I was vegan. I feel like over the past 5-10 years they have expanded their vegan options as well.

Great Vegan Options - Edit
We had dinner here the other night and were impressed with all the creative vegan options, not just “make it vegan” or “salads”. The cauliflower wings and vegan chili were amazing. We went back the next night. A great spot to add to our rotation.

Something for everyone - Edit
I love this place! They offer many great options, and I especially love the tempeh Reuben. It is SO cheesy and SO flavorful. The service is always great and the servers are always super friendly and knowledgeable about the vegan options. The berry tart was one of the best things I've ever tasted (but best to get it fresh in the morning). The portion sizes are great! One of my favorite places to eat for sure.

Vegan options, nice atmosphere - Edit
I like both the St. Paul and Minneapolis locations, and I do recommend both. I wish they had more vegan choices and that the staff was more knowledgeable about plant-based options and products used. However, the food I get there has always been delicious! Most recently I had a cauliflower grilled cheese with vegan cheese from the Herbivorous Butcher that was fantastic!

Not much at MSP airport location - Edit
I've only been to the MSP airport location recently, but there was not much in the way of vegan options for dinner - basically just a salad and veggie burger and you have to ask for it without mayo because they only have animal product mayo. They also had a vegetarian chili which would come with animal cheese and sour cream. 🙄 Our server was not accommodating either. The regular locations have to be better- otherwise this restaurant would not be on Happy Cow.

Not allowed to sit down after ordering $15 in coffee and cake - Edit
The cafe needs some professional training in the area of hospitality management. My husband and I were waiting to pick up our daughter from Macalaster College when we thought we would visit French Meadow Cafe and have a piece of cake and coffee. We went to the cafe around 4:15 and there were maybe two tables out of the twenty-something tables taken. We ordered two pieces of cake and two hot drinks (about $15). I asked for a real cup and not a paper cup. The person taking the order said that was fine. When we got our two cappuccinos and cake, we proceeded to take a table. The person on the wait staff come out and told us we couldn't sit down. Yes... you heard right...we were not allowed to sit down to enjoy our cake and coffee at 4:15 in the afternoon. We are 50 year old professionals. We are not college students wanting to sit all day with a $3 cappuccino. The wait person/manager said we could sit outside on the patio. I told the manager that sitting outside in the rain eating cake in the rain was not the cake/coffee experience we were looking for. The manager, who looked to be about 20 years old, told me that the policy is that you have to order from the dinner menu to be able to sit down. I looked at this person incredulously--it is not the dinner hour and we are not taking a table away from another customer who wants to order dinner. I simply went to go sit down at a table and told them we would leave after eating our cake. If you want to buy cake, make sure it is only "to go." This was the strangest coffee house experience I have had an in awhile. Wait staff with no ability to reason or understand any idea of customer service. Two thumbs down for service.

SO GOOD. I have never left a review on a restaurant before, but this place has seriously the most delicious food I’ve had in my life.
Read moreThere’s so many vegan options, including many entrees, ranging from sandwiches to salads to pancakes and more, as well as many AMAZING vegan desserts, and vegan hot chocolate :). I’ve been here several times and haven’t tried half of what they have to offer. Every time I order something, I’m blown away how delicious it is!
Overall, lots of healthy options as well as treats for us vegans, with some non-vegan options for friends who aren’t vegans and are craving Mac and cheese or something. I’m not exaggerating when I say some of the best food I’ve ever eaten was from here.
