Juicy Jalapeno! - Edit
I was really impressed with the variety and quantity of their plant based offerings. I really enjoyed their jalapeno version of a juicy Lucy. The jalapeno flavor was pronounced without being too hot.

This restaurant is the place to beat. The burgers are the platinum standard by which every other burger (vegan or not) can be judged: juicy, flavorful, slight crunchy, beautiful brioche bun, and filling. Their rootbeer is also amazing, the vibes of the restaurant are phenomenal, and well-advertised community events show the owners care about their city. The bathrooms are clean and wait staff are attentive to gluten allergies.

The baconator though...is life changing. Their homemade seitan bacon is the most real tasting thing we've had. The burger tasted like a junior bacon cheeseburger from Wendy's. Phenom.
Fries were decent! Staff was super friendly.
Pretty pricey!
Edit: I have dined and ordered out here numerous times since they opened and everything is great!!

Got the juicy Lucy because it’s a special to the area. It was really good. Well seasoned. I also got the spicy chicken sandwich, which was also stellar. Be warned. The chicken was very realistic, only downsides was it was Midwest spicy IMO, but not everything need to burn your tongue off.

Perfect place to get a Vegan Burger and Milkshake! - Edit
Spent a cold weekend in MN house sitting, I specifically came to Minneapolis to Eat Vegan and Francis didn't disappoint. Their menu looked so good I wanted to try it all. Unfortunately I also avoid gluten so I had to reel it in. I went with the Francis burger with cheese on GF bun. It came with fries. I also ordered a Strawberry milkshake even though it was 11 degrees outside. A good vegan milkshake is worth it. The bartender suggested the mayo malt vinegar dipping sauce. There wasn't a bad bite or sip the whole meal. Everything was delicious and I was impressed with the milkshake and the GF bun the most. Most GF bread options are horrible. They toasted their bun so I think this helped with the texture. The bartender was great company as I was traveling alone. I would definitely come back.

Read moreOne side of the establishment evokes a classic 50s burger joint. On the other half sits a bar where hipsters seem to spawn like NPCs. Beers are poured in Pabst pint glasses no matter their makeup. You may even spot a bartender wearing a sweatshirt that reads, “just give up.” (cool.)
The menu purveys offerings at once familiar and inventive. To eat, I chose a simple yet delicious fried chicken sandwich, served on a shiny brioche bun and polished off with mayo, lettuce, and a ruffle-cut pickle crunch. Gee nihilistic willikers, was it good.

This place is fantastic. They have a burger of the moment - my favorite I've come across so far was the Elote Burger. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great gluten free options as well! And boozy milkshakes?! So damn delicious.

Loved the vibe here. We sat at the bar and got burgers, a salad, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. One of the owners was our waitress and she was extremely friendly and happy to give us vegan recommendations around the city. Food was amazing - burgers were so good and the milkshake hit the spot! The side salad was also surprisingly tasty and flavorful. Would definitely recommend Francis burgers

IMHO the Francis Juicy Lucy rivals the original (from 5-8 Club or Matt’s Bar…still a heated debate). The MN Spicy Chicken Sandwich had a satisfying crunch with every bite. I enjoyed the Freebird, a non-alcoholic libation & tasty beverage to wash it all down. Excellent all-around.
