Top😄

nice falafel but not welcoming - Edit
I thought the falafel was actually pretty good as well as the potato wedges (they were surprisingly really nice). For the quality it feels like a fair price but the atmosphere is very cold. It has the exact same setup as a Maoz down to the menu names and the options at the salad bar but with a quick pressing turnover. Always busy and run by a boss that seems passionate about his food but extremely stressed. It’s not a place I would come back to even if the falafel is pretty good. It kind of feels like a Disney World of falafel. So many people with a weird cafeteria like ambiance and more of a focus on getting you in and out than anything else.

My new favorite falafel - Edit
I'm surprised to hear a previous reviewer complain about the owner, ever time I've gone, he has been very charming and friendly. Regarding the falafel, I wouldn't change a thing. I honestly prefer Falafel Tof to L'as du Falafel in Paris, which tends to do very heavy on the aubergine. I think adding your own fillings is a huge plus, as well as having the mango, tahini, and garlic sauce on the table to add as much as you want. I'm looking forward to my next falafel here.

Great falafel, but incredibly rude owner and lots of food waste - Edit
We have been to Falafel Tof many times, and their falafel are seriously one of the better ones compared to other falafel places in Antwerp. Sadly, however, we have regularly observed how rude the owner is to customers and his own staff. He regularly lashes out at customers, who are perplexed at his bossy attitude when simply asking for instructions upon entering the restaurant, or blaming customers for wrong orders. They use a complicated and confusing system where one first has cue to order at the bar, you then find yourself a table (it can quite busy), eventually you are called to the bar by a waitress to receive your falafel and choose your fillings, and finally you cue once more to pay at the same bar. Confused customers asking for directions should come as no surprise with the bar fulfilling multiple functions.
Read moreNone of the staff ever really smile, and it doesn't really feel pleasant being in such an atmosphere for too long.
Lastly, we have noticed that the majority of those customers who order combination meals (e.g. pita with falafel + fries + drink) are unable to finish them, resulting in lots of left-over food which finds its way into the bins right away.
Pros: Great falafel, Own choice of fillings
Cons: Rude and bossy owner, Large portions (when ordering combination meals), Food waste due to too large portions

Amazing falaffel sandwiches! - Edit
Haven't had such a good falaffel sandwich in years! Everything is great: the falaffel (with lots of herbs), the hummus (I really recommend you order this an an extra), the bread, the fillings (which you choose and fill yourself, they also have very good pickles).
Read moreSome of the sauces are not vegan (the tahini sauce and mango sauce are), and this is a fast-food place with fast-food atmosphere.

Tasty Falafel - Edit
Great falafel for a small price. When you order some falafel, you get a bread with falafel and you are supposed to fill your bread with as many different toppings as you want! The staff places some sauces on your table, but these aren't always all vegan. When you ask for vegan sauces, the staff will only give you the vegan ones.

Simple. Easy. Delicious. - Edit
Went in for lunch, and left fully happy and satisfied. As a touring vegan cyclist, I can't remember the last time I ate at a restaurant and felt this good afterward. It was so good!
Read moreEverything is vegan except a yogurt-based salad dressing. I didn't hear anything about a dish available with egg. The falafel menu meal (pita sandwich, fries, drink) is €7,90. The falafel menu meal can also be ordered as a bowl, without the pita, but otherwise identical in terms of contents. This is also €7,90. Lastly, you can also order just the sandwich or bowl without the fries or drink.
Be sure to order the hummus for your sandwich *before* you start adding fillings. Otherwise, it ends up on top of everything and not in every bite.
I think I will try to avoid the fries (fried potatoes) next time, though. They are far too good when smothered in ketchup and tahini. That can't be a good thing. :-)
I will be going back as often as I can while in Antwerp.

Delicious Food, Confusing System - Edit
The food was good, period. Very tasty. But the way in which you have to order had me super confused. When I asked the cashier how or where to order he wouldn't explain it to me and referred me to his boss even though he had nothing to do. Apparently you order, sit down, get called back when your falafel is ready, fill up on toppings yourself, sit down to eat and then get back to the counter and pay. I thought that was unnecessarily complicated. When I didn't get that right away the boss snickered at me, which was really unnecessary. The wait was quite long and since I wanted to eat my falafel on the way somewhere, there was no plate and no place to put it when it came to payment. So yes, the food tastes good, but I really didn't feel welcome there.

Tastiest falafel I've ever eaten. For 9.90 euro you get falafel in a bread bun, small fries portion and a drink. The r falafel is very very good and you can choose the veggies that go into the bun yourself. Sauces are brought to the table, we only asked to keep the vegan ones and we got ketchup, tahini and a secret one made with lemon juice with spices. I was impressed with the taste and freshness of the food, I would recommend to anyone. I even texted a friend that I'm eating the best falafel on the planet. The owner is nice and friendly and the music is great. Also the place is warm and cozy.

What a nice cosy place this is! The place is small, the food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, the prices are fair, the portions are very generous. This is a must go! Almost everything is vegan, except for one dish and one or two sauces. I love it! And I will definitely go back here if I visit Antwerpen again.

Falafel Tof Antwerp - Edit
I love this place. Friendly staff, great falafel and baked potatoes. The vegetables and pickles differ from week to week (eggplant, cualiflauwer, chickpeas, hummus, sauerkraut). It has become a trendy place for tourists and hipsters I believe. Sometimes it's very crowded
