Levantine food can, at times, be a touch one-note. However, when it’s done right, it’s glorious. As I suppose is true with many cuisines, there is no rhyme or reason as to why one place excels over another, though it does seem that the disparity with this particular fayre is higher than most. But, cravings will be cravings, so it was, with a slight decree of trepidation, that I took my chance on this place being a being purveyor of excellence rather than mediocrity.

Further still, despite paying a relative pittance, the sheer amount of food also gave me reason to believe I was in for a good feed; a logic that proved to be well founded.
Right from my initial grab, the particularly glorious spicy falafel, I was impressed with the freshness and boldness of the flavours. Of the many (many) stellar sandwiches that I sampled, the foul and falafel & fried vegetables were just about the most noteworthy. As for the other accompanying items to this wholly delightful feast, the fried vegetables plate was, rather expectantly, wonderfully filthy, the foul was hearty, and the hummus Beiruti was smooth and zingy.
This place certainly surpassed my wildest hopes for what it could be - cheap, satisfying and exceedingly delicious. What more could you ask for?
