Wonderful little restaurant - Edit
I was absolutely delighted to eventually find this unassuming and welcoming little restaurant. It is hidden away so use Maps once you are in the heart of Funchal. Great unpretentious food with two dishes of the day and a juice of the day. Warm and friendly staff and a joy to find that most, if not all, of the food us now fully vegan. You need to go there- you won't regret it 😊

Great little place, open ING up to an interior córner decorares with pics celebrating humans on earth. Lovely food and great service. I believe everything on the menu today was vegan!

Read moreThe menu isn’t extensive and pretty much is falafel with salad or in a wrap.
I got the falafel salad which was tasty and worked well together. I do wish that the salad had some carb element as it was just salad falafel and houmous. My partner got the falafel wrap which came with chips. The wrap was much better than the salad, had lots of different flavour and texture elements. The chips were crispy and well seasoned.
The falafel in general was good but not the best I’ve ever tried - it did the job though and we enjoyed the meal!

Very tasty vegan Picado which was more than enough for two of us. The babaganoush was delicious too and came with plenty of bread. Enjoyed the Madeira tonic and Amarguinha cocktails too!

The portions were generous and reasonably priced and they have a selection of vegan desserts including pasteis de nata. Staff were friendly and it is a nice atmosphere. They have healthy drinks like Kombucha but also alcohol if you fancy it. They have a few different falafel wraps (not the most original vegan option I know but they had different types!) They also have a special of the day which was Venezuelan black bean stew with plantain, mushrooms and rice.

I ate at Fala Fala regularly during my 6-month stay in Madeira and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. The food is always fresh and delicious, with great vegan options at fair prices. They also offer tasty desserts, which are definitely worth trying. The place itself has a cozy, adorable vibe with cooking books and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Visited this lovely spot twice on our holiday. Went for an early dinner (note they close at 18:30 most days).
Read moreThey have a board of daily specials (everything from drink, soup, started, main, to dessert), however they do start to run out by the end of the day. For pastel de maras go early!!!
We chose food from their standard menu: our starter was hummus, which they decked out with some delicious fresh veg.
For our main we chose the soya bean burger. It was delicious but is on the softer side so it’s a bit tricky to eat. Definitely would recommend!
Unfortunately their dessert was only vegetarian but we had their panna cotta and a small sweet triangle (very similar to a tiffin - a solid chocolate mousse with fried fruit).
We went back the next day when they opened (11:30am) to get pastal de natas. They didn’t have them ready until 1pm but be quick because they sell out fast! They were some of the best vegan pastas de natas ever!

We ate here multiple times and it was amazing every time. The staff is very nice, the falafel are to die for and the prices are great. Almost everything on the menu is vegan. Only exception: the dish/soup/cake of the day can be vegetarian only, however, the dish of the day was always vegan when we went there - so definitely ask. Desserts are also amazingly good.

Top Spot für entspannten Lunch - Edit
Heute hier beim Lunch gewesen. Lokal liegt in einer überdachten Passage was es sehr angenehm zum „draußen“ Sitzen macht, da weder Autos noch all zu viele Leute vorbeilaufen und man sich dadurch wunderbar unterhalten kann. Service und Ambiente waren top.

Small but airy and comfortable space. The menu leaned toward falafel but the daily specials (2 daily entrees 1 cake of the day) were totally different and sounded good but we did go for wraps and a dessert. We were told by someone we met in Funchal about how much we would like this restaurant and it was true.

Amazing small restaurant - Edit
Fala Fala is a very nice and amazing small restaurant, which is quite hidden, but worth to search for it. We (both vegan) enjoyed oriental Tortilla with fries (home made), Hummus with Tortilla and the Falafel with cream. Finally we had a gluten free sweet triangle as desert. Very good taste and super friendly staff. Prices are fair and we will come back for sure when we will be in Funchal next time.
