Vegan options and fantastic coffee. - Edit
Wow, welcome to Adelaide.
Read moreVisiting for fringe, I was hoping that the City would be curious about vegan ism and exchange coffee blew me away.
With vegan options on their menu clearly marked "VG" and the ability to change a lot of dishes with VGO or simply asking.
I enjoyed the banana bread with espresso whip VG.
Which was soft and hearty, the creamy espresso whip with sweet dukkah paired perfectly.
I probably didn't realize the portions would be so big, but I also ordered the "eggs your way" subbing out eggs for a wonderful creamy tofu scramble.
2 large pieces of sourdough, was very full, but committed.
Affordable and delicious vegan food.
They have a great coffee program. Sourcing and supporting sustainable coffee growers.
Espresso, filter batch brew coffee available in a 1L carafe aswell 🙏
Exchange coffee cafe was absolutely fantastic.
Greeted at the door, with table service and the capacity to cater for individuals as well as larger groups of up to at least 12 on a large table.
Pros: Vegan options, Vegan optional eggs your way with tofu scramble , Vegan banana bread

NTB, I just wouldn’t call it avocado toast - Edit
It might be a hot take but when I think of avocado toast I think the base on the toast is avocado and then there might be topping on that. This toast was absolutely loaded with hummus, so the majority flavour was hummus (delicious) with some bits of avocado on top.

Still good options. - Edit
Here’s a July 2024 update. I went for breakfast.
Read moreSadly, I didn’t see scrambled tofu on the menu. There’s a reasonable selection of vegetarian on the menu, and several vegan items with a couple more that can be made vegan. The menu notates items that are vegetarian, vegan and vegan-optional (& gluten free). So they understand.
For $17 AUD I had a beautifully presented porridge of steel-cut oats. It’s natively vegan. It was filling and tasty, see the picture - it has plenty of seeds, cooked pear and even some flowers. I can’t do this at home. Wonderful.
My breakfast companion had a competent and filling scrambled egg on sourdough. It looked nicely made. And she enjoyed her batch coffee.
Pros: Great creative cafe meals, Risk-free. Staff around here are enlightened. , Lots of seating indoor and out. It’s popular.

Plenty of vegan and veggo options. Coffee was great and food was absolutely delicious! We had a vegetarian sandwich and a vegan one and both passed any expectations we had.

Vegan tofu scramble - Edit
Really enjoyed the vegan tofu scramble and would order it again. Would like to also try the vegan banana bread. Great location, just off Rundle Street and close to the Fringe venues.
