I Enjoy it every time! - Edit
Enjoy is my favorite vegan Chinese spot in the city. It's also the very first one I tried when I moved here years ago so there's some sentimental vibes for me. I've been to both locations many times and I prefer the Chinatown location but this one is great too and with the same menu and consistency. There's an extensive menu with some unique and flavorful options. Personally, I tend to opt for the items with the most veggies but there is plenty of mock meat choices. I love the pea shoots and spicy green beans and always order them in addition to a couple more items to complete my meal. Definitely a go to spot for me.

Chow mein! - Edit
Such a little gem in the suburbs! We ordered the dumplings for entree and then the general Tso’s chicken and the vegetable chow mein. All were incredible and we didn’t leave a single noodle on the plate. Server was kind and helpful and the restaurant vibe is cosy and lovely.

Won ton soup is perfect any day - Edit
I feel like I've won the lottery when (practically) an entire menu is vegan! This restaurant gives me the nostalgia that I look for in a casual, warm bowl of won ton soup. This place really knows how to prepare tofu. I love that the Sunset location is within walking distance of Golden Gate Park, one of the best parks in the world, imho. They have an extensive menu, and portions are generous. This is the type of neighborhood restaurant that gives me hope that there will be more vegan restaurants for regular people like me.

Yummy food and an extensive menu - Edit
Everything I’ve tried at enjoy has been tasty. Even my non-vegan family members like the food. I especially love all the soups. There are maybe 2 items that are not vegan and they are marked as such.

Always good - Edit
I love this place. They usually sell food at SF Veg Fest and they're always good. We have tried a variety of dishes and they have all been good. I lived in the Sunset for quite a while very close to this place. Their prices took a pretty steep climb so we stopped going. Very unfortunate because they are a great place.

All Vegan Chinese Food - Edit
I have previously been to Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant at 839 Kearny in Chinatown. This was my first time coming to the Inner Sunset location at 754 Kirkham.
Read moreI decided to go w/ the Kung Pao Tofu w/ peppers & broccoli. It was listed under the spicy menu section. It was $10.99. Rice is extra. Steamed Brown Rice is $2.50 per bowl. There are 93 items on the picture menu which helps when ordering to get the visual.
They are closed Mon here & is a short walk from Golden Gate park. SF Veg members get a 10 percent discount here. My dish had plenty of broccoli & garnished w/ peanuts. Generous portion size. Tofu was flavorful yet didn't find it that spicy.
Pros: More items to choose from, hearty portions

Nice little spot close to GG Park. Majority vegan, but a few vegetarian items offered that are clearly labeled. With so many options, it’s hard deciding what to order 🥰

our favorite Chinese food - Edit
Enjoy has been our favorite for years. We used to go to other Chinese restaurants in the Inner Sunset because it was cheaper and also good, but after getting chunks of chicken in our vegetable mu shu more than once, we were done.
Read moreThere are great faux-meat options here, but also great straight-up tofu dishes. Our omnivore friends have happily eaten here every time. Some favorites:
- Wonton / noodle soup - nice broth, hits the spot.
- Kung pao tofu
- Singapore noodles - dry curry dish
- Dumplings!
- Pea shoots
- Spinach pine nut stir fried rice - they can do it with brown
- "Chicken" with green beans and black bean sauce
- Rice cake with mustard greens and some mock meat
Truthfully, we liked everything that we got from Enjoy over the years. The service is fast.
Depending on where you're coming from (wanting cheap chinese food, expecting expensive SF food), the prices might be surprising. It's a couple dollars more than cheap Chinese food in the neighborhood, but so worth it.
Please tip generously, they're good hardworking people!
Pros: huge menu, 100% vegetarian, They warn when something's not vegan

Excellent Asian Vegan Food! - Edit
Tried this place for the first time and loved it!! Not your typical American Chinese restaurant-- some of these flavours I have not experienced since my time in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. We got to try some unique items-- Vegan Shark Fin Soup, Eggplant with Vegan Sea Bass, and Vegan Braised Spare Ribs with Broccoli. Everything was delicious and actually seemed like excellent quality as well. Everything was cooked and spiced to perfection and the portions were very generous. They have a massive menu so there's something for everyone, even picky eaters! Also all dishes are made without garlic or onion, for those who avoid garlic & onion for spiritual practice. Of course during COVID they aren't doing table service, only Take Away but atleast they were kind enough to let us eat our meal at their 1 table available inside. We really appreciated that! Picnicing in the park is also an option. Very happy with our experience here and would gladly return.

Introduction to Full Veg. Chinese Food - Edit
My wife and I found this gem while visiting San Francisco this summer. It was our first experience at a restaurant serving 100% vegetarian Chinese food and no MSG. We enjoyed the imitation beef with green beans, and the hot and sour soup was great. If we’re in the area again, we’d go back.

If you like mock meat, you will love this place. They have everything from beef to pork and fish. They also have very good tofu and vegetables dishes. The beef and brocolli is very good. The sauteed pea shoots are a novel side dish that goes well with a dish that's mostly "meat" and not much vegetables. Very affordable. Nice staff. Great for eating in or take out/delivery. They often offer complimentary red bean sesame balls.

Sea Bass? Yes, Please! - Edit
We are always on the lookout for new meat substitutes, so Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant caught our eye(s) when we were planning our San Francisco excursion. Their online menu included chicken, pork, duck, shark, spareribs, prawn, cuttlefish, and beef. None of the more unusual ones were available on the day we arrived for lunch, but sea bass was on the menu! It took exactly 0.0 seconds to decide what we wanted, and we were not disappointed. It was not a life-changing or world-stopping event, but we weren’t expecting it to be. What we wanted was a delicious meal, and that is precisely what we got. As a bonus, the service was great, the rest of the food was very good, and the prices were very reasonable.

A favorite of mine - Edit
I mostly like the variety on the menu, and freshness and tastiness of the food, and the honest friendliness of the staff. I've been going there for years. They are supporters of the SF Vegetarian Society, and make an effort to provide good food at a reasonable price. It's not 100% perfect (they do have some mock meat, they do cook in canola oil), but you'll find plenty of good items on the menu. Nice casual atmosphere.

This restaurant is located in China Town and serves a great variety of vegan dishes. Most of the dishes were vegan, and the few vegetarian ones were clearly marked.

Mock meat heaven - Edit
Awesome place to go after visiting the Golden Gate Park. The range of mock meats is impressive! I had the eggplant and sea bass dish and gosh, the "fish" felt and tasted so real :) I don't know how they do it. Also tried the shark fin soup (really lots of different mushrooms) which was quite interesting (if you're adventurous with your food).

Tasty vegan lunch - Edit
I had read about this place on happycow and was pleased to find their food both at the San Francisco World Veg Fest, October 2012. Here's my Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant review.
Read moreThe owner and her family managed the booth and served meals at $10 for a combo platter: rice + choice of 3 dishes. Plus you could pay extra for fried spring roll, fried curry potato triangles, and fried sesame balls.
I got brown rice with steamed dumplings (yummy), a soft tofu squares with peas and corn dish (tasty), and sauteed long beans (good). Overall the food was tasty, and the service prompt.
After Veg Fest I walked over to their Sunset location on Kirkham and 13th. It's located in a residential area and seemed to be the only business right there. This particular location is smaller than their Financial District/Chinatown location. Inside were just a handful of tables. Simple decor.

love the fried rice - Edit
Their fried rice (I think it was the "house special" fried rice) is the best I've ever had. Super delicious--really love the stuff.
Read moreHaven't had much luck with the few other things I've tried there, though. They were fine, but not exciting. There must be some other gems hiding in their menu that I haven't yet found...
They seem to be doing good business--it always seems to be packed with Chinese folks, so maybe they've got the authentic stuff. They're a couple of blocks off the beaten path, so they must have a loyal customer base that see them as a destination restaurant.
Pros: great fried rice
Cons: many
