Great atmosphere, but a lot of minor improvement necessary - Edit
The location is great. Directly in Mariscal. The decor and the music is really good. It’s clean. The staff is nice. The service is super slow (even with only 2 parties in the restaurant). The food tastes ok. In my Opinion not enough for the price. Quantity wise they should increase it to make one satisfied (for the price they ask for). We both had to order 3 meals to feel satisfied and everywhere else we either get one plate each or even share one plate. We are normal sized. The soup of the day was already gone at 5pm. They are open until 9 pm or so. Unfortunately they did not Remember our special order. Burger without onion. Not a big Deal of course. But for that price ($7,25) they could be a bit more attentive. Also the food is different depending when you come. We had the stuffed portobello one night with salsa and the next day it came totally different and w/o salsa. But both times accompanied by bread. I assume to dip it in. Also the bread was moldy the second time. And instead of directly apologizing for it the staff investigated the bread. But later brought a new plate with different fresh bread and the sauce. And apologized.

Lots of options. The food was yummy and filling. Perhaps just needed a little more flavour. But I was still happy with meal and service.

Amazing food - Edit
One of the best places I have ever eaten at! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff and the most delicious food.. it’s a tad pricey compared to other places but you get what you pay for so it’s totally worth it!!
Read moreI recommend getting the vegan milanesa napolitana, they use really good quality ‘ham’ and they use daiya cheese which I love because most vegan places in SA make their own which can be gross! It’s a must to eat here at least once!!

Amazing restaurant. A range of vegetarian and vegan options including traditional Ecuadorian dishes, noodles, pizza and pastas. Nice juices. Good service. A bit pricey for Quito but reasonable given the quality of the food.

Was good - Edit
I had a „burger“ with pita bread, quinoa balls, humus and salad. It was okey, nothing special and the quinoa balls were too dry.

Another Amazing Vegan Experience in Quito. - Edit
Substitute the cheese for vegan cheese and you're in. A bit pricy but understandable because it's in the touristy district surrounded by discotecs... Overall a great vegan experience...

Mmmm - Edit
Great place, nice vibe, lots of seats, a little library of Spanish books, nice art on the walls. I've only eaten there once, had the ravioli which had a non-vegan pesto so they changed up the sauce and made me a ravioli pomodoro with walnuts. Was tasty, brought out quickly, and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of vegan requirements. Would definitely recommend this place😄Their hours need to be updated on Happy Cow but I think they are correct on their FB page. I wish they were open in the morning because I'd kill for a 'milky' coffee! Also dying to try their cakes! Staff understand limited English so it's a good chance to practice your español!

Nice veggie restuarant in Quito - Edit
We ate at El Maple twice while in Quito. Finding vegan food is a little challenging here to say the least so this was a pleasant surprise. The vegan potato soup is incredible and could almost be a full meal. We also tried the veggie burger and the breaded seitan. Both were good. Just a hint...they do not speak any English so you need to come prepared with how to order in Spanish :)

Disappointing - Edit
I was expecting some really good food after reading some online reviews and I thought it was not special at all. We ordered a natural fruit juice which was too diluted. Then we had empanadas and a burger which were dry, and a mexican specialty which was too salty. I dont want to go back.

Great Food! - Edit
I went here with my mom two nights in a row. We are both vegans and were able to eat here easily. Both nights we got the Philly veg steak with fries ($8.5) and then one night we got the sanduche andino (which was sparing with falafel - $5) and the other night some yummy corn turnovers ($4.25). We got vegan cheesecake (don't recommend), chocolate cake (okay, but dry), some of their truffles (also okay), and their banana split (best of the desserts and an easy thing to share!)
Read moreThe restaurant is adorable! It is definitely the nicest vegetetarian/vegan restaurant I have ever been to in South America! The first night where we got a few desserts our bill was $23, which is pricey for here, but the second night with the banana sundae was only $15 so the desserts get you price wise!
Pros: lots of options, nice setting
Cons: pricey

I had a enchilada as a main course, and apple pie for dessert. They were both so tasty!
Read moreHowever, I really wish there were more vegan options, most of the cakes weren't vegan, and they didn't even have vegan cheese when I went, only tofu.... which isn't comparable.
I would normally say a 3.5 stars, but I have to round it up.
Pros: Food tastes good
Cons: Needs to have more vegan options

Wonderful Vegan and Vegetarian Shop - Edit
Such a wonderful food restaurant suitable for light lunches and full course evening meals. They have such a wonderful selection of Vegan And vegetarian options. The staff are really kind, polite and friendly and can help you to order! In the heart of Plaza Foch it's very easy to find and get directed to. Definitely would recommend this place to eat!

Great variety of food - Edit
We came here for lunch and had a delicious meal.
Read moreThere was a very good selection of vegetarian and vegan food, including meat substitutes and vegan cheese.
I had the hot dog, which was a really tasty chorizo soya sausage with good toppings - onion, sauces and guacamole. My omnivore boyfriend had a soya steak topped with cheese, good chunky fries, and salad. There were lots of items on the menu I would happily have eaten!!
Prices are reasonable, although more expensive than a lot in the city (although level with many of the similar veggie/touristy restaurants) Open at weekends too, which is rare in the area!!
Pros: Flavoursome food, Wide selection of food
Cons: Not really cheap

Amazing meat substitutes! Tons of vegan options! - Edit
Massive menu with a variety of different cuisines and a ton of options for vegans! I ordered the samosas to start which were very spicy but delicious. For the main I got the best vegan burger I have ever eaten and I’ve eaten a fair few! They got the vege meat patty just right and the vegan cheese they use tastes pretty close to real cheese! Our lovely waiter recommended the chocolate cake for dessert and it did not disappoint - may also be the best vegan chocolate cake I’ve eaten!
