The best vegan restaurant. - Edit
This is by far the best vegan restaurant in PR (I've visit them almost all). Good quality ingredients, very creative plates, unique taste. Great services. Beer are ridiculously pricey, 7, 10, 11 dollars, is ridiculous.

3rd time's a charm? - Edit
Edit 6/14/17: Gave it another try and was very glad that I did. The restaurant was almost empty so it was perfect. This time around I tried out the "vegan loaf" the flavors and presentation was phenomenal - highly recommended. For dessert tried out a grain based chocolate cake which also tasted delicious. My suggestion is that you go during less busier hours if you want to try out the food, if you're going for beer, any time is a good time. Bumped up the rating to 4 stars from 2.
Read moreThe first time I went to El Grifo I arrived around 8:30PM and they refused to serve me because they had closed the kitchen, I found them through Facebook which said they closed at 11PM, so I was a bit confused. It was a drive for me so I was a bit disappointed but I wanted to give the restaurant a try so a few weeks later I came back. From ordering we waited almost 1 and 30 mins for the food to come to the table. The restaurant was full but still a ridiculous amount to wait, and more for just a simple sandwich. When the sandwich came the bread was stale, completely inedible - the "tuno" was though, and was pretty tasty. I obviously didn't end up eating it and the server was a bit apologetic and offered if I wanted something else - I didn't want to wait another hour so I refused. When the bill came she said that they had removed the sandwich so I appreciated that. They did acknowledge their mistake and invited me to come back and try it another day. Hopefully I'll give it a try again someday.

Amazing setting, amazing service and amazing food!!! So glad we came here. We tried many dishes on the menu. Difficult to say which one was the best as they were all so well prepared and presented!!! Well worth the ride!!!

We came here as vegans from NY and we were highly impressed with the cassava toast and meatloaf. The hospitality is very good and the owner is a great host. This is a must stop for all vegans.

We came in when the kitchen had already closed but the owner kindly let us order some food for our hungry stomachs. Really amazing food with fresh ingredients and interesting flavors. Everything was filling and satisfying. We are definitely coming back here.
