One of a few outlets in Cusco, this one offers a range of mostly-vegetarian and vegan meals including tofu burger, pancakes, spaghetti, salads, fries, falafel, whole wheat bread, cocktails and juices. Complimentary salad bar with meal. Quick service. Weekday movie afternoons 3:00pm-6:00pm. Reported fully vegetarian March 2025. Serves a local fruit called tuna, not to be confused with the fish. Open Mon-Sat 8:00am-10:00pm, Sun 10:00am-10:00pm.

Delicious food for a great price! - Edit
After I found this restaurant passing by the street I didn't want to try any other! Apart from being a very cosy place all the food is delicious, nutritious and cheap with a very low budget menu del dia and yummy breakfasts as well! The only element missing is the vegan desserts to be perfect! I absolutely recommend It 😋

We've been here twice (lunch and dinner). So cheap (12soles lunch). It is close to Plaza de Armas

I had the vegan lomo saltado the portion is huge! Also they have salad bar which I had refilled twice I think I liked the free salad even more 🤣 they have tons of menu with vegetarian/vegan options. Recommended

Stumbled into this place quite unplanned we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of options on the menu. Although most of them veggie, the cheese can be replaced with tofu (not scrambled but cubes). We took two breakfast plates, one with the fake meats and I’d def recommend going for that one, especially if you’re hungry, the lomo saltado was sooo yummy. The orange juice was very freshly pressed and the salad on the side nicely salted, the coffee strong. Well, the mushroom were coming out of a can and I personally always prefer fresh, so that’s a minus point for me but I overall definitely recommend coming here.

We walked in thinking this place was fully veggie and then saw a menu item with tuna. I was a bit surprised and checked on HC. 😅 Yeah haha it’s not veggie, but maybe Pescatarian. Anyways, the rest of the menu aside from one item is vegetarian and vegan! 🌱 We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts (which is served all day!) and stayed a while in their cozy place.

Massive portions, delicious food, and great service! My partner and I came to El Encuentro 3 different times over the course of our stay in Cuzco. I love that the menu has a large majority of authentic Peruvian food that can be made vegan very easily, it was always difficult to make a final decision. The lomo saltado is fire!

We ate here about six times trying different options from the menu and the daily special (3 courses, a tea and salad bar for S.12). The staff are friendly, very helpful with vegan options, good value food and a nice atmosphere. The complimentary salad bar is lovely. There is still tuna on the menu. A small restaurant with friendly stuff that offers delicous vegetarian and vegan food and also sells some products to take away such as peruvian cacao. It looks a bit hidden from the outside but if you are in Cusco you should check it out.

Affordable food and lots of vegan/vegetarian options - Edit
It is a rare find and they have 10-sol lunch set with a soup, a main course and a drink. Lots of locals frequented there during lunch hours and the place was full. We ordered sandwich and pasta and the food came very quickly. They are just home-style food (not the best thing in the world) but they were good and the staff were very friendly. Strongly recommend!

Good value for money here if the salad bar is being stocked. Get a sandwich and some fries for 12 sol, and then just keep refilling veggies at the salad bar and that’s about as cheap a veg meal as you’re gonna get in the area.
Read moreThe food is decent, but nothing mind-blowing. Unfortunately the menu does not make it clear what is vegetarian and what is vegan, and there’s fish on there too, so even if you ask it’s hard to be confident that a bun of bread or whatever is actually vegan. Essentially no English is spoken, so be prepared to break out your translate app if you’re not a native Spanish speaker.
3.5 stars if HappyCow ever decides to allow more granular ratings.

Amazing and cheap food compared to other restaurants in Cusco. They have lunch menu (salad, soup and main for 8 soles) normal meals between 18-25. Super tasty and nice portions. Love the atmosphere too! Highly recommended!
