Nice but way too much cilantro!

Very small restaurant! but managed to get a seat for 4 of us. Ordered the tofu brah bowl (buns aren't vegan), which was a massive potion! Tofu and sauce was nice but there was wayyy to much cilantro for my taste, it overpowered everything. That really tainted the whole meal for me. Also ordered the tempura broccoli, this was also a little bit of a let down as it was quite soggy and not much batter. Plus side, we ordered the tofu nuggets plain for my little girl and she devoured them!. Maybe we went in expecting too much after seeing all the brilliant reviews. Overall was a nice meal, wouldn't go there again in a hurry.

Pros: good tofu

Cons: lack of seating

The best surprise in Baltimore!

My expectations were low walking into this restaurant. It looked decent at first glance and I thought it was another “Asian bowl” place. To my surprise this was one of the best flavored and high protein vegan bowls I’ve ever had while I’ve been traveling. I ordered the tofu brah and the ramen broccoli and could not finish both together. Well done Ekiben. I’ll stop by whenever I’m in Baltimore for sure!

Pros: Food, food, food!, Friendly and fast service

Cons: Small place, limited seating (part of the vibe )

Get the Tofu, brah

So good that I’ve tried (and failed) multiple times to recreate the peanut sauce used for the tofu. I’ve tried people’s recipes in Reddit comments and tried to visually study the sauce and its consistency, but alas I can’t get anything close.

I guess I’ll just have to keep coming back.

Great, large vegan dishes

Amazing vegan options. Filling, huge portions. Almost too huge. Beware of ordering too much at once. I would absolutely come back regularly if I lived in the area.

Pros: Vegan food was excellent and well thought out, Friendly, knowledgeable staff

Cons: Portions might be too large

I’ve been trying to get here

Idk what has stopped me, because I’ve heard about this spot for years and years. I’ve even read their updates about adding vegan buns, but I was in the area and had some time to kill. Went and tried the tofu brah bun and wowwwwww. Super filling, super tasty. I would deff drive back to come here. Also, tried the yuzu-ade and mmmmm mmmmm refreshing. Can’t wait to try their other vegan options in the NEAR future.

New options!

Their new what the birds eat option is sooooo good, even better than the tofu imo. It’s nice to have more options here now. The broccoli tempura is also great. Their vegan options are clearly marked on their online menu

Pros: Couple vegan options

Didn't know the bun wasn't vegan 😞

Stopped in for dinner after seeing this listed on happy cow, wish I would have read the description more carefully. I had the tofu bun, not knowing the bread contained dairy. The tofu was nice but that was an upsetting discovery so my view of the meal is tarnished. We also had the tempura broccoli which was pretty good, but if you order it take it out of the container so it doesn't get soggy from the sauce at the bottom. The portion size of the broccoli was huge.

Hi Nieve, the information is old - as of Sept 2023, all of their buns are vegan!

Tofu Brahhhhh!

As someone that eats plant-based who also needed to travel to Baltimore regularly, I was very happy to find this place (Fells Point). It’s very small with limited seating but we’ll worth it. Just head over and try to Tofu Brah. It’s amazing. Such wonderful flavors. They also have great plant based sides (red beans and rice as well as tofu nuggets or tempura broccoli). It looks like they have 2 other locations in Hampden and South Baltimore. Sad I’m not there as much. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Hyped location, great taste and decor!

The venue looks amazing. It’s less about it being photogenic, more of the details and what you’ll see throughout being a fun experience of things you may connect with. My favorite was the Endor poster. As far as the food, I had the Tofu Braw and it was delicious! Spot on and for the price, portion was amazing! The Thai iced tea not so great but the Yuzaude was yummy.

Pros: Nailed the tofu, Large portions, Pickled veggies

Cons: No soy sauce or sauces for rice, Not many drink options like soda

Great vegan food BUT their bun is NOT vegan (contains dairy)

I went to this restaurant last weekend. Told them I was vegan and attempted to order a dish recommended in the reviews here. The dish had their bun in it. I was told that their bun contains milk by the staff person but I could order the same dish as a bowl without the bun - which I did. Had the Tofu Brah Bowl, Tempura Broccoli, and Red Beans and Rice. I highly recommend all of them!

Should get 5 Stars

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The tofu bun is incredibly delicious, and you actually get a good amount of tofu. The tempura broccoli side is also delicious and I rarely order without adding it on (that’s also because as someone mentioned if you are hungry the bun isn’t that filling). GO HERE!!

Decent quality

As others have said there isn’t a lot of variety but the options they do have are pretty good. I had the tofu bun. The tofu was too crunchy in my opinion but everything else was really good.

A little something different

A cute little nook that is still take out only due to covid. Quick and efficient service and friendly staff. Not a ton of vegan options but the options are GOOD and unique. Will definitely be back if I’m ever in Baltimore again!

Opt for the box

Very excited to try this place - they only have one vegan option however. Plenty of sides but only one main dish. It was delicious though! I went with the Tofu Brah on a bun. Next time I’m getting the bowl because the portion is twice the size!

Also- I read it was a very long wait and a small place. I recommend ordering ahead and having Grub Hub deliver.

Pros: Delicious , Large portion

Cons: Long wait , Small building

Tofu bowls are to die for

The tofu bowls are my go to order. The serving sizes are huge for what you pay, and the pickled veggies are delightful. You can also get tofu on a steamed bun. I recommend ordering ahead on their app as this place always seems to have a line. Their sides are all vegan: tempura broccoli, tofu nuggets, and rice and beans. However, they are primarily a meat based restaurant, which, of course, is not ideal.

Pros: Portions to price ratio

Cons: Few options for vegans

Super tasty tofu rice box

Ekiben offers one main vegan box (spicy peanut tofu) and three vegan friendly sides. The tofu box is very tasty, and a decent portion for the price! Only real issue is that the menu is small, and so only one option.

Pros: A solid vegan option, with sides, Good value for money

Cons: There is only one main option

Great buns and broccoli!

Loved!! I had the tofu bun and it was amazing 😍 I also ordered the tempura broccoli because the reviews were good, and it was amazing!! I recommend getting both, though I was too full to eat all of the broccoli.

don't pass on the broccoli!

Wow, this place makes amazing food! Such bold flavors and a great combination of them, too. Don't skip out on the broccoli, if you go. And the tofu is so amazing!

Pros: incredible food, hip space

Cons: tiny

pretty good

Tofu brah is the only vegan option that's an entree (they only have 5 entree options though). It's $9 on bread and $12 with rice.
The bread is pretty small (see pick) but just enough. If you really want to be full try it with rice (but you miss out on yummy rice flour bread).
It tastes exactly like the online description: peanut sauce etc. the cole slaw is made super well and overall makes it super satisfying.

I wish they didn't take so long (but I can't argue with fresh) and also wish it was more of a dine in place. There's only 8 stools in the whole place. It's mostly carry out.
