Tasty Donut to go in grand central - Edit
I had a vegan pistachio donut. It was very tasty and the price was okay by New York standards.

Grand Central downstairs Dining Concourse, next to Track 112 - Edit
UPDATE: when I visited this place three years ago, they were all out of vegan donuts, and from what other reviewers noted at the time, this is not all that unusual--so I rated them with just 1 star. The last few times I visited, however, I saw that they were well-stocked with vegan donuts. Indeed, today, they had four different types of vegan donuts, which is about 1/3 of their total offerings, and the vegan donut I had (a chocolate sourdough donut) was quite good. So since they evidently upped their game, I accordingly upped my rating.

Vegan Sourdoughnuts - Edit
Floral pink guava and zingy pink grapefruit is how it was described online - it hurt my mouth it was so sweet. Super chewy but nice that there was at least an option when my company ordered donuts today. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get donuts from here though.

Good doughnuts - Edit
I bought the chocolate and raspberry glace ones and they were good. I liked them, there was another vegan flavour I didn't try. I don't get the bad reviews, either they are very picky or they had a bad batch.

Gross… - Edit
Just don’t come to this location. I’ve seen great reviews otherwise, but this location is janky. Not only did I have poor service from the attendant who brought a nasty attitude with her to work, my doughnut was stale and looked like it was made a week ago. Tasted like it too. I had to throw it away.

Fluffy, delicious doughnuts - Edit
We stopped here around 10 AM on a Thursday, and they still had all three types of vegan doughnut. We had the double chocolate and pistachio, both of which were delicious and pleasingly fluffy.
Read moreThey don't serve decaffeinated coffee, but they directed us to Joe Coffee a few steps away, where we were able to get a vegan chocolate chip cookie as well as some decaf Americano with oat milk that refused to go into solution in the coffee.
The service at Doughnut Plant was a little cold, which leads me to think that the business is not paying its workers well. In the past, when I had a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at a business where the service was cold, I learned that it was because the business wasn't paying or treating its workers well.
Pros: Delicious doughnuts.
Cons: Workers don't seem to be paid or treated well.

Plant milks + one vegan donut - Edit
Nothing to write home about, but if you’re here waiting for a train and suddenly become possessed with the irrepressible longing for a vegan chocolate donut (as one does), this is your only road to salvation (without leaving the station, anyway).

Great double chocolate donut! - Edit
Light and fluffy donut with a deep, dark chocolate flavor. The donut itself is chocolate and so is the frosting.

Pretty good vegan donuts - Edit
We went here on a Sunday. They had two of the three donuts available - dark chocolate and passion fruit, and they were missing a pistachio flavor. Their menu featured the vegan donuts prominently and said that they were made from sourdough using a non-commerical yeast starter (FWIW). My impression was that they were actively courting vegans. The donuts were interesting--chewy, not flakey. They hit the spot!
