Delicious yeast donuts that were fluffy and tasty. Loved the strawberry filled ones the best.

Strawberry lab!!! - Edit
The strawberry lab donut is my fave. But one time they gave me a free caramel one, and that changed my life and made me appreciate caramel for the first time. I have stood in line here several times and would do it again.

incredible donuts!! - Edit
the donuts were really good!! the crème brûlée topping was really sugary (obviously) and the cream was delicious, but i could only eat half of it in one sitting. the apple fritter wasn’t as sweet, but it was ginormous. humongous donuts, i don’t think i could finish even one lol. definitely recommend

Wide variety of vegan options. Tried the Strawberry cream. Light texture but quite large in size. Very friendly staff with modest seating.

Yum! - Edit
Donut Bar offers four vegan donuts, including one rotating flavor cake donut. I enjoyed all the donuts. The cake donut was a little salty for my taste, but my boyfriend enjoyed it more than me. The fresh strawberry cream donut is my favorite! It is so fluffy and soft.
Read moreThe only downside is we ordered on Doordash, and they replaced one of our vegan donuts with a nonvegan one, but since my boyfriend isn’t vegan, he ate it (and said it was tasty). Not my favorite vegan donuts ever, but a solid choice. #Veganuary

good, solid vegan donuts 🍩 - Edit
When we came here they had two vegan donut options: the crème brûlée and the spiced chai. We tried both and liked the chai better: very sweet and nice. The other one had a nice filling but we didn't enjoy the frosting on top too much. The decor is really cool, especially the Homer Simpson toilet. The staff is super friendly.

Pros: marked vegan donuts, plant milk , funny decor , friendly staff

Worth the hype - Edit
We came here at 11 on a Wednesday and they had barely anything left, 15 minutes after we were served and they completely ran out. Boy though, I can tell why. The banana caramel donut we had was delicious, and banana is not usually a flavour I’d go for. A lovely balance of icing and dough, mixture not too sweet- big thumbs up.

Special shout out for the service which is 11/10!

Great to have so many vegan donut options… - Edit
I really appreciated this shop having so many vegan donut options at such a popular donut shop. We got the 4 options for the day but I kind of wished there was just a basic glazed option? Call me traditional, but those are the types of donuts I crave and I kind of wish that was an option. However, I appreciated the experience and recommend trying if you want a different type of donut experience !

Yummy vegan donuts! - Edit
Vegan donuts and milk alternatives are clearly labelled, meaning you won’t risk accidentally taking something that’s not! I tried the chai donut and really enjoyed it. I’d visit again!

Best donuts! - Edit
They had 4 vegan donut options when I went. The strawberry split and crème brûlée were the best ever. Hands down. Apple fritter was ok. The chai was also really good. They also have oat milk for coffees and lattes. Hope they come out with more vegan options!

Decadent treats - Edit
I got the apple fritter and strawberry split. Delicious! Both were very decadent - sweet, fatty and filling. I paid $9 total for the two doughnuts. I think there were four vegan flavours the day I was there. Make sure you ask which flavours are vegan because the doughnut shop has a ton of different options but only a few are vegan.

Incredible Vegan Treat - Edit
Stopped at the Donut Bar for some of their vegan donuts while in town for Comic Con and I wish I had gotten more.
Read moreThe four flavors they had were incredible and way better than I imagined they could be. The staff was helpful when it came to helping me pick out the right donuts and the prices were incredibly reasonable compared to what I've paid for similar donuts around the country.
They also kept well and I was able to save a couple for breakfast the next day. Don't miss this while you're in town!

An exuberant treat - Edit
The variety of donuts is amazing to witness. The menu changes daily, and the donut designs often reference contemporary events and pop culture. The appeal is more tied to novelty than to taste, but the donuts are nonetheless fluffy and fresh.
Read moreLabeling is inconsistent, and the web version of the menu doesn’t appear to be functional at the time of writing, so it can be difficult to ascertain which vegan options are available without speaking to an employee. As for drinks, nondairy milk is available. I was told the chai and white mocha flavorings contain dairy, but the dark/regular mocha does not.

Do you know what whipped cream they used in their strawberry split? I didnt know if it was vegan?!

Same menu as the Vegas location. 4 solid vegan contenders daily. Both the kids and us really enjoy stopping in here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Nice seating area upstairs to sit and watch the city go by.

One of the best in SD - Edit
Donut Bar had four vegan options the day I went, I tried the fritter and creme brulee. Both were good and tasted fresh, but were not the best raised donuts I've had. I prefer more glaze on my doughnuts (fritter had just some drizzle, creme brulee had the crispy top, and I didn't try the strawberry split, but it doesn't have any glaze either). Still good and worth trying if you're in town.

Was very excited to try out Donut Bar! The donuts ranged from $2-5. There was a huge list of donuts but only 4 on the list were vegan. We ordered the strawberry split, creme brûlée and an apple fritter. The strawberry split was phenomenal. I’d give 5 stars if they had more options - or even better went completely vegan!!

Yummy! - Edit
I found this place on Happycow but didn’t plan on going because of the many negative reviews. One day, I found myself a few blocks away and tried it for myself. I’m so glad I did! I went on a weekday around noon and they had 3 vegan options. The place is pretty small when you first walk in and there wasn’t a menu—you saw which donuts were displayed and chose from there. The staff knew exactly what was vegan (you have to ask because they aren’t marked). The vegan strawberry split donut was delish and was a popular choice for everyone in line! It was also massive and I ate it over two days. I had a second donut, caramel I think, that was good, but didn’t stand up to the strawberry split. Flavors will likely vary based on when you go, but if you find yourself close by on a weekday, try it for yourself and see what’s available!

Multiple Vegan Flavors - Edit
There was a line outside the door and they had run out of some of the vegan flavors, so get there early if you’d like to catch them all. The vegan Chai Spice was DELICIOUS. I’m a cake donut fiend and was super happy to find some there.

Not Worth Waiting in Line - Edit
I had the split strawberry and apple fritter...the apple fritter was def better. Where I come from, vegan donuts are a novelty. If not for that, I wouldn't have stood in line. It was an experience. People were excited to be there. Donuts...were pretty good, but not great.

The apple fritter - Edit
The apple fritter was my favorite. I didnt care for the cream brulee. They had 5 flavors when I went. It would be nice if they marked them on the tags. I really wish they had some different options. I was hoping for a normal donut with icing.
