Yummy food - Edit
Food was yummy, big portions.
Read moreThe Cajun fries tasted like regular fries so that’s a bit expensive for 6$ then. Coleslaw was really good but bit small serving for the price. Catfish, Okra and Pickles were fabulous.

Solid Southern eats - Edit
Great food, my only criticism is I wish there were a few more veg-forward dishes and a few less deep fried. I would eat here much more often if it had a few more healthier options for some variety.

One man band? - Edit
Had a great meal here- fried pickles, mashed potatoes, cornbread, fried chick’n, ribs and catf’sh, all washed down with a pitcher of sweet tea. All was amazing. Equally amazing was the impression that it was only one person doing the order taking, cooking, waiting and cleaning?

Don't let the name scare you - Edit
The fried cauliflower was really good. The greens were good but bland, they needed more seasoning. The ribs were good. The bowl with the popcorn "chicken" was really good and I would get that again. However it was suppose to have Cajun corn which it did not. They were also out of cornbread which happens, just disappointing.
Read moreDespite no one there tables were not wiped down. The staff was very friendly. The name is different for a plant based restaurant but since they don't have salads I guess it is okay. :)
Pros: I really liked the fried cauliflower., Everything is plant based., The area is so cute.
Cons: Dirty tables, Out of cornbread, No corn in my dish

Out of this World - Edit
Updated review (07/2025): We have been so excited to get back here since we first came in 2022. We arrived around 7pm on a Sunday and there were a few parties seated inside and 1 couple ahead of us to order. We ordered and sat down. We noticed that none of the other tables had any food. I’m not sure if something was going on in the kitchen, but we (and everyone else) waited insanely long for our food. I’m referencing pictures for exact times to give an idea. We ordered at 7:15. The 2 appetizers (Cajun Fries & Fried Cauliflower Bites) came out at 7:38 - not too long but still over 20 minutes for apps. Fries were good but cauliflower was lacking flavor and we enjoyed it way more last time. Every so often the guy who took our order would come out with another appetizer for someone in the restaurant. It seemed like only appetizers were coming out for anyone for a really long time. At 8:28 2 of our 3 meals came out, and at 8:31 the last meal came to us. This was almost an hour & a half after we ordered. He also had forgotten my coke so I reminded him then & got my drink. I ended up being glad it didn’t come out in the beginning because it would have probably been pretty room temperature by the time the food came out lol. Clearly they were busy, & maybe something was going on in the kitchen because it seemed like meals were taking extremely long for everyone. Not a problem, just noting for the review. Anyway, the food was just okay. We were so disappointed because we absolutely loved it last time we came. I ordered the catfish, with cornbread and mashed potatoes & gravy. Catfish was very good but cornbread was very dry and mashed potatoes were lacking in flavor. My sister ordered the popcorn chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy and Mac & cheese. Mac & cheese was also lacking in flavor. Popcorn chicken was good. My other sister ordered the ribs with Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes & gravy. Ribs were good but were actually cold. Overall we were not pleased.
Read moreOriginal review (08/2022): This food was incredible. Also, the employee at the register was very kind and friendly. We ordered a plate with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and Mac n cheese as well as a plate with ribs, cauliflower bites, and the spinach pie. We also ordered a large infamous bowl. Everything was incredible. We were accidentally given 2 sides of Mac n cheese but I brought it to their attention and they immediately came out with the correct side of mashed potatoes. Textures and flavors were great

Vegan (and nut free!) Southern Cuisine - Edit
Delicious, fresh southern food at Dirty Lettuce. Big bonus that it is 100% tree nut and peanut free, one of my family members is highly allergic. The service was so friendly and warm. Great non-alcoholic beverages and delicious food! It was blazing hot outside and we really appreciated the air conditioning.

Yay for southern soul food! - Edit
I was so pleased. I’ve missed catfish and theirs more than hit the spot. I’d never had fried chicken before and this was amazing. Both had perfect breading.
Read moreThe Mac & Cheese, greens and coleslaw were average, compared to the southern food I grew up with, BUT, the infamous bowl was great, so were the hush puppies and cauliflower bites. Definitely give them a try my friends! Immediately hooked!
Unfortunately, they have a smaller menu now and no catfish.

Fried pickles! - Edit
I haven’t been here for years and was shocked that it’s just as good as I remember. The fried pickles stole the show. Mac and cheese was really just a lackluster macaroni salad, I’d recommend skipping that. Catfish and bbq ribs are killer. #Veganuary

Always a favorite - Edit
I stop here everytime i’m in town! The food is unmatched. Probably one of my top 3 favorite mac n cheese of anywhere! I love the infamous bowl, which is a fun twist on the KFC bowl thing. The fried pickles are always a must for me as well.

Absolutely everything is incredible. My husband and I split everything. We got the catfish platter with hush puppies, coleslaw, Cajun fries with a caramel apple cider. It was all to die for. I got the fried chicken platter with jalapeno poppers and fried okra with a sweet tea. It's all fabulous!

Fried Deliciousness - Edit
We visited on a Saturday around peak dinner time. The food was fantastic and we were able to enjoy their outdoor seating. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but everything came out hot, fresh, and crispy- so no complaints! My popcorn chicken plate was great, I had sides of Cajun mac and cheese and fried pickles. Large portion(s) and overall a good time!

Outstanding Cajun South in yer Mouth - Edit
“Best ribs” was a comment from my non vegan friend. I agreed. Texture and flavor were spot on.
Read moreLoved the hand helds, had the “meet” and spinach. Order either.
Mac was good
Greens were good
Cornbread good (and hard to find!)
Mud sauce excellent. Remoulade paired nicely with the ribs.
Popcorn chicken had a good chickenish flavor but didn’t remind me of chicken texture.
Another customer recc’d the chicken sando which he said was much different than the popcorn.
The scallops and calamari (special) were both (nicely) fried mushrooms and although didn’t mimic the seafood was still flavorable but honestly they were a fine delivery system for the mud sauce. Truth be told I could dip my shoe in that sauce and eat it. Def get a side of that and the bbq
Pros: The food, Friendly staff and chef
Cons: Small chef driven restaurant -which is also a plus, Can be a wait for food. (Worth it)

Fantastic - Edit
Ordered like 7 things between my friend and I and everything was great. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because with many things being fried, subsequently a lot have a slightly similar taste IMO. For example I ordered the chicken and catfish and had the expectation that the catfish would if not taste like catfish to not taste almost the same as the chicken but that was what what my experience was. Still delicious though.

Great food! Hardest part is deciding on what to get. I got the fried chicken plate with mash/gravy and the jalapeño poppers. Chickun was crunchy and had a mild poultry seasoning to it. Mash was creamy and gravy was rich and flavourful. Jalapeño poppers were crunch and had a smoky cheese filling. Perfect to dip in ranch dip.
