A real gem - Edit
This is the place if you are looking for a special experience! The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice (calming colours, music and comfy seatings) and the staff was super friendly. And most importantly, of course, the food was super delicious!
Read moreThey have smaller dishes and main dishes but also great plates with a bit of everything already combined. The manti are my favourite so far but I am looking forward to trying the great looking deserts the next time.

Great - Edit
First of all: the atmosphere is the absolut best. You have the opportunity to sit on pillows without shoes in a traditional way. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the usbek music complement the setting.

Surprisingly tasty and shockingly empty at lunch - Edit
We were looking for something different from burgers or Vietnamese and we found this very nice Uzbekistan vegan restaurant based on Sattvic diet. We had never eaten Uzbek food before and we really liked it. An interesting fusion of flavours. There should be more vegan restaurants from other countries in Berlin beside the usual suspects. The owner was very nice and friendly. We were surprised to see it empty at lunch time, it definitely deserves a visit.

Lovely food in a family-run eatery - Edit
An all vegan Uzbek eatery - what a lovely place! Not only was the food great, the service, the ambiance and the overall feeling of this restaurant is everything one would want when dining out. I enjoyed the little chat we had with the owner prior to ordering. He cared to explain what sattvic food is and why this matters to him. His wife is the one in the kitchen preparing all the food, so bonus for the fact that this is a family run business too. Would hands-down recommend!

Amazing place, it's cozy, with shoe free raised sitting platforms. The food is so special, like nothing I've ever eaten. And the music is a mix of traditional uzbeck music and modern variations.

Wonderful experience - Edit
In a city where it seems everything has already been done, Dervish impresses with its originality. When you enter it is clear that this was someone’s dream; to make a place that represents their culture. The decor is incredible, food delicious and service very nice.

Uzbek Magic - Edit
I'd been wanting to go to Dervish for a long time and yesterday it finally happened.
Read moreIt was not complicated to get a table. When I was making the reservation on their website around Friday noon for four people for the evening all the time-slots were still available. During the day two more friends wanted to join and it was simply resolved by calling the restaurant.
When I entered the restaurant I was immediately struck by the colorful, cozy and vibrant atmosphere, which was in stark contrast to the dark and rainy weather outside. The waitress led me to my table, which was located in the corner of a slightly elevated platform without chairs and where no shoes were allowed. I took off my shoes, sat down on a cushion and took in my surroundings.
The main colors were light yellow, white and gray. There were carpets with colorful mosaic patterns on the floor as well as on the walls. The walls were also decorated with lots of small framed photographs, depicting what I assume to be Uzbek landmarks, landscape and architecture. The lightbulbs in the ceiling lamps were flickering - creating a lit-candle effect. I really enjoyed the music, which throughout the evening was pretty high tempo, mostly instrumental, middle-eastern-sounding and often with guitar-like instruments. As we were leaving Nissim by The Gaslamp Killer played, which I think exemplifies the music of the evening pretty well. The colors, the mosaic patterns, the music and the lit-candle effect at times almost made me feel like I was in a medieval tavern. I really liked it.
The menu consisted of sides, salads, bread, sauces, a soup, three different mains and a couple of desserts. Notably, they don't serve any alcohol, but rather tea, cold drinks, mocktails and lemonade. The menu was only in English and the staff also spoke English and no German.
We were a group of six and decided to order the Mahalla Set (95€) - five sides, four Qutab breads, 4 Non breads, all salads, all sauces, two mains and 1 liter lemonade - and two additional mains. It was definitely enough food. Everything I tasted - apart from the Non bread, which was kinda meh - was super good. My favorites were the Goulash, the Kovurma and Fried Barak. It was my first time trying Uzbek food and it reminded me a bit of Georgian food.
I could not have wished for a better Uzbek dining experience. Sitting on the floor on colorful cushions in Dervish' cozy atmosphere while sharing delicious food with friends is hard to beat. 5/5!
Cons: Cash only

An Alternative to most of the Vegan Restaurants in Berlin - Edit
One needs a good filter in Berlin as most of the restaurants just offer the same types of food. That's why we were intrigued when we read that this place offers Uzbek cuisine.
Read moreThe ambience was very nice, the staff were friendly and we sat on the floor with cushions.
The food itself was very interesting and the portions were quite large.
Not everything was overwhelming, but we were content in general and chatted with the staff. We would like to come back again and try other dishes.
Pros: Pleasant alternative to other restaurants, Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff

Mal was anderes - Edit
#Veganuary

If you use theFork, u sometimes get 30% off the whole menu

Mediocre & expensive - Edit
The atmosphere and staff were wonderful! The food tasted mediocre to me and lacked flavor on its own. When paired with the date sauce (an additional menu item to order) and something spicy it was a bit better. I probably won’t go back, but wasn’t upset about the experience.
