The food and drinks menus draw inspiration from the “Al-Andalus” times, when Spain, Portugal and North Africa shared cultures under a common dynasty. Chef Zineb Hattab (Zizi) offers a modern take on the Al-andalus culinary tradition with dishes that are ideal for sharing. Also serves international creations that reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our team. The most popular dining choice at DAR is the “DAR Sharing Journey,” which allows guests to relax and let the kitchen surprise them with a curated selection of sweet and savoury. All-day coffee & apéro: Tuesday - Friday 9:00AM – 6:00PM. Dinner: Wednesday - Sunday 6:00PM – 10:00PM. Brunch: Saturday - Sunday 10:00AM – 1:30PM. Relocated from Gasometerstr 5. I really enjoyed the tasting concept at Dar, though I wish it had been better explained at the beginning. If you get the sharing menu they bring you a selection of dishes from their menu to try, however, what they did not explain is that you can ask for more of any dish or you can ask for them to bring a dish from their menu that you want to try but was not included in their selection.
Read moreEven without extra dishes we left absolutely stuffed. Everything was fresh and flavorful, though some dishes impressed much more than others. I really enjoyed their asparagus dish, their corn tostada dish, and their croquetas (the fried potato spheres). What I would suggest they improve is their bread (it felt stale despite being warm and did not taste great) and their crepe dessert (we wished this had not been part of the selection as it was a very unexciting and unremarkable option).
I enjoyed dining at Dar, but nothing impressed me enough for the price that I would hope to return.

I got it as a birthday gift and it was really great experience! We got sharing degustation menu for two. All dishes very interesting and really tasty. Super attentive and nice staff. And for Zurich and the actual level it definitely worth the price! Great place for some special occassion.

Very stylishly put together "sharing experience" menu which included some really delicious and unexpected triumphs. The asparagus salad with cashew "cheese" sauce was excellent and I could have eaten another portion of their "Kentucky fried mushrooms". The two negronis to wash it all down were perfect too!

Read moreWe decided to go for the ‘share experience’ instead of order off the menu. Multiple dishes for the starter, main and desert came out and the waitress chatted us through each of them.
They easily adapted the few dishes that had gluten in them for me which was great and the service was also overall fantastic.
The cocktails were lovely and not too strong.
Overall this was an amazing dinner and honestly it could even be my favourite meal to date 😋.

The DAR restaurant is an experience of its own kind. All dishes are vegan and adapted to the season. The restaurant mainly serves dishes from the Mediterranean region, but also from other parts of the world, and combines them to a wonderful flavour. The service is just excellent; they give you a lot of information about the dishes. I advise to take “The Dar Sharing Experience” with a surprise selection of different snacks, mains and sweets. The DAR Restaurant is for gourmets and definitely deserves the Michelin award.

Het restaurant is heel sfeervol en het personeel erg vriendelijk. Wanneer het mooi weer is, kun je in de tuin of aan de straatkant zitten. Everything about the place is special: the decor, the ambiance and especially the food ! Original menu, flavours, textures and taste to be enjoyed, a very reasonnable price for the quality of the food and a very beautiful place that nicely completes the atmosphere. We went for the “sharing experience” and we loved it. Most of the items were delicious and the portions sizes were decent too (which is not always the case when having a tasting menu). Wine was good too.
Read moreThe customer service was friendly, attentive and very efficient. Prices are a bit on the higher end but definitely worth it, and still cheaper than other similar places in Zürich like KLE.
The only negative note was perhaps regarding the premises. The restaurant looks old and the lighting is very poor.
Overall, positive experience and we will certainly be back. #Veganuary
