Solid vegan sushi roll options - all veg based (no “fake fish” creations) but very good. The mushroom roll in particular was excellent. Good spot if you need vegan food in a pinch (we were traveling) but not a super filling option. #Veganuary

Flavorful, inventive, and delicious vegan rolls. Staff knowledgeable and which vegetarian rolls are vegan. One of the rolls has macadamia nuts in it.

Very busy place but we got a seat quickly (go early if you can). Plenty of vegan options and interesting sushi. I enjoyed the sweet potato sushi. They also don’t seem to put mayo on the sushi as standard as I forgot to ask. Good place to visit with omnivores.

The server on the phone checked all the ingredients in their vegetarian sushi menu and confirmed that the tempura contains no eggs or dairy.(I imagine this varies from chef to chef so I'd always check each visit) Delicious sushi and lots of vegan options.

Sadly, during my only night in Monterrey we chose to come here instead of other places because on this app it was listed as a restaurant that has a vegan menu. That’s isn’t true. They have a few vegetarian options, but most of the “different items compare with other sushi places” which were vegetarian tempura sweet potato rolls weren’t vegan as some of the reviews here said. They use butter in those the same as in all of the other sushi places I have been in my life.

Sadly, the “vegan friendly” California hasn’t been on my side during this trip and I come back home super disappointed.
Pros: The waiter was nice and tried to accomodate
Cons: No vegan menu, they have a vegetarian menu.

Really lovely sushi! The Shroomalicious is the best of the bunch - but lots of other options too. The Nasu Miso is also vegan, but sadly most other things have fish in them. Would be great if they could make a few more menu items - like miso soup - at least vegan optional.

Since El Cántaro was closed, we started wandering around downtown looking for food and found this hidden gem. The food was delicious And the options were beyond cucumber and avocado rolls. Try the sweet potato roll! Very friendly service.
