We tried the Copper Branch Bowl. The marinated shiitake mushrooms had a good texture, but were way too salt and at the same time too sweet. It tasted a bit like a a store bought sauce.

We had a nice, relaxed lunch. Had the Cesar bowl, and the Greek bowl, with the homemade icetea and lemonade (each being 14,90€ the 'healthy menu'). And fries with veganaise (3,90€) and onion rings with bearnaise (5,90€) on the side.

It was nicely warm inside, and a cosy relaxed atmosphere, not loud. Would like to see they close the entrance door in Winter though (energy efficiency?).
Restaurant room is accessible. Didn't see an accessible toilet (2 toilets at the back). Toilet clean.

We were eager to go check out this place. For my husband and me it could have been the perfect place. He can have a bowl and I can habe a burger in the very same place. His bowl was okayish as well as my burger. The fries were a total disappointment unfortunately… the fries were somewhat soggy and not well fried.

Decent food, friendly staff. I had a great tasty shitake wrap, but they have many comfort food options. Perfect place to grap a bite while you're in town, but don't expect the perfect location for a romantic date or anything like that. I will definitely return here more often.

Be aware it is a chain. We did not thought about it enough and in the first moment we almost left on the spot. But after checking the menu again and a friendly welcome by the staff a a little taste the of their shitake. I got a hot chocolate with soymilk (felt like childhood) and to eat we hab a shitake burger an a shitake wrap. Both were quiet good as a snack for lunch. The nuggets an the Cole slaw we got in the side were a bit disappointing, would not recommend them. While paying I discovered they had cookies and git one for the go, was really amazing.

Copper Branch has a fully plant-based menu, with plenty of nice option. You can choose from various bowls and burgers (they come with a mix of regular and sweet potato fries). The burger I tried (Signature) tasted great. The place also offers menus that include a drink, making it overall very affordable.

I sat down at the Copper Branch for a coffee and cake with a friend of mine. I had heard about the place, and was excited to try it out. What a letdown.
Read moreFirst of all, when paying with card, you are basically forced to select a tipping percentage (10%, 20%, etc.). There might have been an option to not give any tip, but it's definitely not straight forward and this way you feel very much obliged to give a tip. I love the gesture of tipping, but this approach defeats the whole purpose of it. It doesn't feel like a genuine token of appreciation if the default mode is to tip.
Now, in regards to the food: We both had the (disappointing) apple cake: it tastes bland, it's small, and - above all - contains very little apple.
Another thing I disliked relates to the interior. In the restaurant, you will find large screens above the counter, which give the whole place a fastfood chain appearance.
I was excited to try out this place, but - as the title says - it's overpriced and overhyped. You can get much better value for these prices at other places in Utrecht. My advice: skip the Copper Branch.

Very glad to have a full on plant-based option in the city center which offers both nutritious bowls and more "junk food" style burgers. Perfect for both healthy eaters and amateurs of - less - healthy option. The palce was quite busy but the team still managed to make some room for us. We took the Shiitake wrap (delicious) with corn and the Signature "No burger".

Best vegan lunch spot in Utrecht on Mondays! - Edit
Love to come here on Mondays for lunch. Not a lot of places are open on Monday and that is our only day off, so when we go to Utrecht we always visit this place for a burger or wrap and also a little sweet pie to make it extra special. Very friendly staff! Also tasty for non-vegans, because they do not even notice that something might be “missing”. Best burgers in town!
