There’s so much here I haven’t been able to try yet in Greece and it’s amazing! We got the rainbow supreme souvlaki as well as the white and classic. Both were so flavorful and well made. Great prices and excellent flavor.

Would highly recommend this place!! A little out the way of most of Athens main stops (we were staying near acropolis) but was well worth the trip !! This place is totally vegan and has a wide selection of gyros, souvlaki and salads.. I had the bbq gyros and it is the best thing I’ve had to eat in a long while 🤯🤩 owner was very friendly and welcoming

The restaurant offers a nice variety of wraps and burgers. The mushroom Gyros pita and the lendil Kebap was tasty. The lendil Kebab could have some more flavor by spices, herbes, etc.

This was my first and still favorite vegan place I visited, this and vegan beat! The Gyros are great!!!!!! My non vegan friend got the “bacon & cheese” burger, he couldn’t stop thinking about them. My non vegan brother had a gyro too and was his favorite of the trip. So friendly too! Wine was fabulous also!! We came at night and Magic Kitchen is another vegan spot right next to it, so that’s fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND COOKOOMELA GRILL!

We felt well cared for at this eatery. We were greeted with kindness and helped to order. The food was absolutely delicious. We arrived in the evening, for dinner, sat outside and enjoyed the very lively atmosphere while we ate. Don’t miss it!

The street food here is incredibly cheap and fresh, making it a great option for a quick and delicious meal. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Instead of meat, they use mushrooms as a substitute, which works surprisingly well, proving that a great souvlaki doesn’t need much more than quality ingredients and good seasoning 😍 I’d recommend trying their potatoes!!

My first visit to Cookoomela was nearly 6 years ago when they only had 3 options of souvlaki. I was happy to find they are still in business and now have 10 options. It is located in an exciting and anarchist part of town, which I love. They have mushroom and lentil as their base “meats” The rainbow souvlaki is made with mushroom and is amazing. I am looking forward to going back and trying the lentil.

We were trying to go to the place next door as their menu looked a little more interesting, but they weren't open according to the hours in Happy Cow, and this place was just about to open.
Read moreThe owner (?) was very friendly and although he was not yet open, he invited us to have a seat and look at the menu. We both decided on the Rainbow Supreme, and what came out was very tasty. We weren't really sure what souvlaki was, but we quickly caught on. The pita was super soft and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Lots of mushrooms and it was a filling meal.
It looks like there are a lot of vegan souvlaki places in Athens, and I can see why this was one of the better ones. One comment I have is that most of these souvlakis have no protein. Maybe something to consider to differentiate from the others.

Read moreThe place seems to be really popular with locals and tourists alike. The staff were exceptionally quick despite the many orders.
The food was splendid and the prices very reasonable. I was very hungry and had two souvlaki wraps, one with potatoes and one without and I was very full afterwards.
One point, however - the chairs outside are stools and are on a slope so can be a bit tricky to find a comfortable spot.
