Got a bit excited with all the options and got the rainbow gyro which was basically gyros with the lot! In hindsight maybe some of the other options would have been better as there were kind of too many sauces to handle 😁 Still delicious and the man serving us was very friendly. It’s a very small place so you sit on the street outside to eat. Not my favourite gyro in Greece but obviously major points for the fully vegan menu 🥳 Would visit again.

Great food! I went there with my meat-eating parents and they also loved it. The owner (I think?) was super helpful and kind, all the souvlakis we got (rainbow, pink and another lentil one I forgot the name of) were very very good and well-seasoned. They had a veryyyyy good 3€ organic wine! A beautiful taste of Greece!

I had the white & pink souvlaki, the extra portion of potatoes might have been too much. The souvlaki was well prepared & served quickly, the griddled mushrooms were so tasty in the fluffy bread. Great for a quick bite. Very reasonably priced.

Athens vegan landmark - Edit
I never had a chance to eat a souvlaki— a Greek, street food staple—before today, when I had a chance to visit this well known, long-standing vegan restaurant. Although Cookoomela Grill offer some other items such as burgers and salads, it specializes in vegan souvlakis. The vegan souvlaki I had was delicious.
Read moreYou order at the grill for takeout, or else you sit at the table outside, and the food is brought to you. I assume that natives of Athens vegan already know of this place, and certainly all visitors should try to make a pilgrimage to this place.
