Lots of vegan options, first time trying malaysian cuisine and was mind blown. Loved the kang kung, mapo tofu and noodle dishes

Delicious food with veggie/vegan menu - Edit
We ate at chilli padi for my birthday and I had amazing food. There was a section of the menu for veggie/vegan options. The interior is a bit tired so I don’t know that I would choose to sit on again but would recommend it as a take away

They could improve by using Vegan label so customers wouldn’t have to check each dish can be made vegan.
Pros: Tasty, spicy, bit of a kick, Friendly staff, Buzzing atmosphere

Looks so much better than the Durham Chilli Padi, which is just dreadful.

Great Food - Edit
What a find. Lovely Malaysian food for lunch. They were able to make changes to the vegetarian dishes to remove the egg to make them vegan. Food came within 5 minutes of ordering, freshly cooked and steaming hot. Reasonable prices and very generous portions. Will 100% come back to the Chilli Padi

Spice up your life - Edit
Myself and my wife had a fantastic meal here, where we ordered the salt and chilli deep fried enoki mushrooms, Thai style bean curd, mixed vegetables in Rendang sauce with jasmine rice and the buddha delight. The enoki mushrooms were exquisite and so moreish, while the Thai style bean curd was perfectly cooked and spiced with a delicious sauce. Onto the mains and the buddha delight, which consisted of tofu strips, black fungus and mixed veg with glass noodles was quite simply stunning with such depth of flavour, while the mixed veg in Rendang sauce was aromatic and packed full of flavour with a real spice kick; certainly not for the faint hearted! One really important thing to mention is that you must state vegan when ordering, as the enoki mushrooms for example are coated in egg wash. We requested all dishes to be made made vegan and the chef was happy to do so. Staff and ambience are excellent and we cant wait to visit again.

Absolutely love the tofu and French beans dish. Remember to ask for a vegan version of veggie dishes (clearly marked with green leaf symbol)
