It is so hard to find good vegan patisserie and Chez Fritz has done an amazing job. I tried the Rhubarb Roll with tonka bean pastry cream and it was so perfect!! Flaky pastry, tart rhubarb compote and silky pastry cream. I also tried the black sesame and yuzu tart which was delicious.

Fantastic Patisserie - Edit
I was very excited to find vegan patisserie! Chez Fritz is quite a small spot, with just a few tables (though we didn't struggle for seats on a Saturday afternoon). They have an exciting, all-vegan array of desserts, and from Thursday to Saturday they also have pastries. We tried two desserts in the cafe: the fruity pistachio and the tart au citron.
Read moreMy partner loved the tart au citron. It had a lovely short pastry case, and the lemon curd was beautiful - really sharp, but not quite face-hurtingly so. The meringue was soft and sweet.
I enjoyed the fruity pistachio, though the lemon was a little better. Again, the pastry case was excellent. It contained a smooth, thick, and decadent pistachio cream, a fruity jam in the base, and a fruity dome in the middle that he hoped would add a bit more sharpness. It was very nice, but a bit of sharpness would have made it better.
We also got some pastries to take away for breakfast the next day. They kept well overnight. As za'atar fans, we both got the za'atar roll. It was packed with flavour, and had a soft, flaky bake. It was very good! It made us wish we made (or tried) more za'atar based foods.
My partner got a slice of banana bread, which sounds like a boring choice but it was elevated banana bread! For one thing, it's gigantic. The loaf is topped with a rich ganache and then the top and sides are coated in a chocolate layer. There are also some chocolate chunks in the loaf, which adds up to a lot of chocolate overall - she really didn't need a full slice of this, but couldn't resist!
I had a pain au chocolat as his sweet pastry, and it was great. The pastry was light and crisp (we had actually heard someone else biting into one at the cafe and were impressed by the crisp sounds) and the chocolate was tasty.
I highly recommend this place to sweet-toothed vegans in Vienna - I'm already hoping for an excuse to visit again soon!

Enttäuscht wurde ich von nichts!! Vegane Macarons, sowieso ein Traum, und diese runden Croissants sind saftig und haben eine perfekte Fülle. Bin so happy dass ich das ergattern konnte!

Beautiful and intricate tartlettes. We also took croissants and pain au chocolates to our hotel and ate them the next day. Best vegan ones I ever had. The service is also super nice and accommodating. The only „critique“ is that I didn’t love the cappuccino I had. But I’m also quite snobby about coffee (lol)

A fully vegan patisserie in Vienna - what more do you want!! They have the BEST vegan croissants, truly incredible (and I’ve really tried vegan croissants wherever I could find them). The rest of the pastries (pains au chocolat, almond croissants etc) are also delicious and the tarts are just out of this world.

Preislich gehen die Produkte voll in Ordnung, dafür, dass sie mit Liebe, frisch und handgemacht sind.
Das Lädchen an sich ist sehr nett, man kann sich draußen sowie drinnen hinsetzen und seine Speisen und Getränke genießen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, wenn man sich nicht entscheiden konnte, oder fragen aufkamen.
Alles in allem, tolle Location, schwerstens zu empfehlen.

Alles schmeckt einfach köstlich. Ich war auch super happy, ein richtig gutes fluffliges veganes Croissant gefunden zu haben. Wir hatten einen kalten Iced-Cappuccino, der auch tatsächlich noch ein Schaum-Krönchen hatte, bisher hatte ich eher lieblose Iced-Kaffees erlebt - hier wird auf gute Qualität Wert gelegt. Schade, dass ich so weit weg wohne 😭

Fully vegan baker and patisserie. Tried the pistachio roll and cinnamon twist, they weren’t exceptional but still very very nice and I’d come to get them again. The coffee is okay (you also get a little biscuit with it!) and the staff was extremely nice! The interior is really cute tuned to pastel colours, it’s a lovely place! The prices are adequate for what you get in my opinion.

Chez Fritz is a true gem - you can get the best fluffy croissants and pains au chocolat as well as the most beautiful tartelettes (and tartes via pre order) and just perfect macarons in this cute patisserie. Everything is so tasty and well balanced - the flavors, the textures.. 😮💨 and very important as well: good coffee! friendly atmosphere!

Lovely little cafe with beautiful little desserts to eat in or take away. The most delicious authentic artisanal French (vegan) patisserie I've ever had. As I had never tried vegan macarons before, I got one for the way. Well, grave "mistake" because I had to walk back to get more. Simply delicious! 😋
