Not the best for raw food - Edit
I went looking for raw food and although I was happy to have the raw options, the food was not anything to remember. The raviolis are cut very thick, and mask the flavor of the fillings a little. The pizzetta base was so thick and hard that cutting it with a fork and knife was almost impossible.

Even my teen daughter liked it! - Edit
I was so happy to find this restaurant while visiting East Village. The food is so amazing that even my daughter (who’s def not vegetarian) loved it. She even ate one of their raw dishes. Music nice. Relaxing ambiance. Loved the spanish “paella” and spiced mulled apple cider. We were stuffed!

Yummy! - Edit
A bit slow, but the tasty food made it worth it! I got the hot chocolate (which was very flavorful), and the avocado sandwhich with raw bread. It wasn't a particularly striking dish for me, and I would probably try something different next time. My non-vegan party was satisfied. Very cute, fun kind of a place!

Absolute Favorite Vegan Restaurant - Edit
I love this place so much. I wish the items were cheaper. I won't definitely patronize it a whole lot more often. Everything is so incredibly flavorful, and it has such a pleasant atmosphere.

Required Eating for Every NYC Vegan - Edit
Caravan of Dreams has a fantastic ambiance and truly delicious vegan food. The restaurant has been around for a long time, and the quality of service and food has remained stellar. The tofu scrambled for brunch and seitan taquitos for dinner are not to be missed. I had my first ever "live" dessert at Caravan of Dreams, a delicious pie that is among the best vegan desserts I have ever tasted. The standout dessert at COD was the Rice Dream Pie, which sadly I believe is no longer on the menu: Rice Dream Frozen Dessert, crushed cookies, house made berry sauce and a hard chocolate shell. My husband and I were last here on Valentine's Day; I highly recommend a visit and plan myself to go back to Caravan of Dreams in the near future.

A Vegan Getaway - Edit
I love Caravan of dreams because of it's secret "hole in the wall" location in the east village. I live very close to here and it is a wonderful spot to take a friend or group for a fun evening or brunch date. They always have a live musician which makes it even better! The food is incredible, I have tried about everything on the menu and never been disappointed. The menu includes a great variety of items including raw and cooked, small and big plates.

a classic spot - Edit
This was the first vegan restaurant I visited. I wasn't even eating a veggie forward diet at the time. Just wanted to try something out. And I was impressed. I love the ambiance of the spot, the beer selection, the elixers, the raw options, and even the sticker collection in the bathroom. I love every part of this place. This is a must visit spot for veggie lovers visiting NYC.

Love this Place - Edit
Im vegan and have been going here for around 15 years. It's somewhat mexican inspired but with many other international flavors throughout the menu. Large salads, many vegan protein options, great burrito, tacos, pastas, pate, juices, etc. Also many raw choices. The entrees are very complete and come with side salad and often sautéed greens.

Very great restaurant - menue is amazing, interesting smoothie mixtures, people there really know what they are doing and what is good for you, your soul and the environment. I had a absolutly delicious meal with perfect seitan, avocados, self made vegan kefir cheese and it came with starter and yummy kale salad.

There are so many great vegan choices in NYC, but you really should try to get to Caravan.

The deserts on my last visit were a bit lack lustre, but still nice.

My friend and I split the beet "ravioli," Thai avocado salad, and risotto croquettes. Everything was great and flavorful. Huge avocado on the salad. There were a lot of other things on the menu I wanted to try. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it seemed a little expensive.

Disappointed - Edit
Writing this review saddens me. I went there because I'm a huge NY HC fan and John Joseph of the Cro Mags loves this place so I had high hopes (sorry to bore you with my love for hardcore at this point). It was a cold and rainy day so I thought a lentil soup would be perfect. It was good but honestly something I throw together on a Tuesday night when I'm uninspired and have some leftover broth suitable veggies. But ok, the far bigger disappointment was the Applewood Smoked Tofu which strongly reminded me of back when I first started using tofu and desperately tried to get some taste in that stuff. It was two pieces of (excellent bread) with giant and very greasy slabs of tofu. Not great, sorry. Not fun to eat either. The salad was the highlight of the meal for me. I do want to add though that from overhearing the conversation of the server with the people next to me I fear I might have ordered the wrong thing and that other dishes are far better than that greasy uninspired mess.

Cons: stay away from the Applewood Smoked Tofu, not as creative as expected

My favorite restaurant in NYC! - Edit
I wish I could afford to go to Caravan of Dreams every day and for every meal. Although I'm not a raw vegan, I love how many raw options there are, and always take advantage of their raw dishes -- last time split the raw sampler platter with a friend, and had the raw quesadilla (so much food!) and a raw acai pie for dessert. Every single thing was brilliant, including the atmosphere -- a warm, wood-grain, candle-lit, hippie's basement, complete with live music and an in-house tarot card reader! Worth every penny, and I can't wait to go back!

Nice place! - Edit
Caravan of dreams is a good name for this vegan restaurant offering a very good vegan food. From main course to dessert, I enjoyed a lot my lunch (a stir fry and an mango-coco pie). Staff was friendly and the place has a really pleasant atmosphere. It could be a little bit crowded so you should reserve to be sure to have a seat.
