One of the originals - Edit
I make a point of visiting CoD with my vegan bestie whenever I get back to the city. Most times the food is phenomenal, but there are occasional disappointments. Yesterday I had the breakfast burrito at brunch, and it was sublime. I had berry pancakes too, but found them dry even after maple syruping them.
Read moreMy main reason for four instead of five stars is the price. We paid $16 for a plate of pancakes a la carte. I wanted to try the mango lassi, but couldnāt bring myself to pay the $12 menu price. I donāt begin to know what NYC restaurants have been going through during the pandemic, and I do know theyāre paying higher prices for everything now; but I know I canāt afford meals like this one more than every now and then.

Love it - Edit
About 15 years ago I went raw for the summer. Caravan of Dreams was a perfect find for that time with their delightful desserts. I have ventured back recently too and have tried a few different items - always great. I tend to eat in New York alone and before a crowd like for a late lunch/early dinner. I never have any lines or waiting.

Bad evening! - Edit
The menu looks great and the place has a nice friendly ambiance. I'm not sure if it was a bad day in the kitchen but the food was really underwhelming and expensive.
Read moreThree of us had the $20 ramen which had about 3 spaghetti noodles in it in total? Small portions and not enough ingredients. The service was really slow, we waited almost an hour for our food.
The cocktails weren't very good either.
Overall disappointed, we expected more as the reviews looked positive.

Not good - Edit
Service was slow but they had only one person working, so that is understandable while annoying.

Pretty tasty! - Edit
Nothing crazy, but I was a big fan of the potato jalapeƱo omelette. My mom likes the ceasar salad. She ordered a vodka soda and they charged her the same price as my blueberry mojito, which seems like too much. Mojito was tasty, but Iāve had better

Went here after a show and was met by a friendly staff and good food in this charming eclectic restaurant. Not your typical vegan fare which makes it nice and different.

Diverse menu. A lot of the places Iāve been to lately have a lot of mock meat dishes but this is the real deal, whole food plant based menu which is great for me. The juices, smoothies, and tonics like the ones available here are a rare find and I feel lucky to have found this place!

This was a nice treat for brunch. Had the polenta and veg with greens, a side of toast, coffee, and the virgin sangria. It was filling, tasty, and I didnāt feel overstuffed. My partner had the jalapeƱo omelette. It was 100% vegan and so flavorful.

The HUITLACOCHE AND CHORIZO QUESADILLA is soooo good!! The first time we really enjoyed a vegan quesadilla because not only is it a QUESADILLA it's very unique--trust! Additionally, we got the Caravan Sampler Tapas, which comes with Raw Almond hummus,House-made herbed Cashew kefir,Arabian hummus, pesto, guacamole, smoked eggplant spread, House-made herbed Almond kefir,Ali-oli. served with raw vegetables--each dipping sauce was a pleasure!! The strawberry monitor is to die for! We rarely drink and bought TWO!
Atmosphere***
A very dark, quiet place! Limited in the seating but if you're lucky you'll get a table for four and the other two people won't show!
Service***
Doesn't come with a smile but the servers are very accommodating and we're able to help us change our order with no problem! If anything we should get two stars for being so picky!
Price $$
About $20 per entree, drinks $10, so not the cheapest but this is NYC!
Pros: Variety of cuisines, Atmosphere, Location
Cons: Presentation could be better

An east village staple - Edit
This restaurant has at all. Great vibes, great location in the heart of EV, all vegan and truly organic menu (I worked there and have seen the orders), great smoothies and the list goes on. If youāre looking for the new trendy upscale celebrity chef restaurants, this isnāt your place. Itās very east village, and if you can appreciate itās eccentricity it will be one of your favorite Nyc experiences.
