Friendly service and caters for allergies

Really great service and was able to adapt the menu for allergies (I am vegan, gluten free with no oats or soya). Dog friendly, child friendly and they have recently expanded so there are more tables! Amazing home made hash browns.

Pros: Allergy friendly, Friendly service, Dog and child friendly

Cons: Service could have been a bit quicker, Wish it was open on Sundays!

Beautiful

Immersed as we are in the growing and vibrant city of Milton Keynes, one might expect us blessed with numerous vegan options. Sadly, inexplicably, this is not the case. But ah, more the joy when on holiday to find that gem at which one can browse a menu with the calm eye that has no need to ask questions of providence!

And what a shining, happy gem this is. The food was mostly very good but the cake was even better. There is heart and soul here, both an eatery and a community. Please go, help it thrive. 5 stars.

Absolute gem!

Found this cafe while on holiday and stopped off in Bacton after a long walk on the beach. Fully vegan, very dog friendly. Lovely welcoming staff. Had coffee and cake, delicious, fabulous range of cakes. Would definitely recommend and call in again next time we are in the area.

A vegan oasis

We only ran from the car parked outside in to the cafe during a heavy downpour and the lovely owner asked if she could pull up a heater to dry us out - how fab is that! The menu looked fab but unfortunately we didn't have room for a meal so opted for a cheese scone for me and a toasted teacake for my companion, with hot chocolates all round. This is a really cosy oasis with welcoming and friendly owners. We could see dogs were very welcome with well behaved owners😉 Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Pros: All vegan, Welcoming and friendly , So cosy

Perfect for dogs and human alike 😊

After twice arriving at Carmel Cafe when they were shut, we finally managed to get the timing right this holiday - and it was definitely worth the wait. Selecting from the build-your-own sandwich or wrap list, I had a fabulous sausage, facon and onion sandwich on multigrain bread, which was just perfect. My husband chose his long established favourite, garlic mushrooms on toast, and declared Carmel’s to be one of the best he’d ever tasted. The coffee and the chai latte was faultless and the baked goods looked so good we ended up taking scones and a slice of gateau home with us - they tasted as good as they looked. For me, however, the greatest joy was just how welcome our three dogs were made to feel. Biscuits were offered to all but the oldest, tired out from the walk along the beach, was also offered a comfy sofa to recover on. Caramel Cafe is definitely the best places we have ever been to on the east coast 😊

Pros: Fabulous food, Really lovely staff, Dog friendly

Cons: None

A Vegan Oasis on the Norfolk Coast!

Our holiday cottage weren't sure what to leave a couple of old vegans for our 'Welcome Pack' so they paid a visit to Cafe Carmel and asked for some help. So glad they did! We were more than happy with our half dozen of the best cup cakes you've ever tasted and some vouchers to spend. We eventually made it along to the cafe midway through our stay and we both ordered the All Day Breakfast. It was really good! Two sausages, hash browns, tomato, mushrooms, beans and toast. The sausages were awesome! We sat outside because it was a nice morning and it was pretty full inside ( so happy to see a fully vegan business doing so well!) and our two lurchers take up quite a bit of space. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was friendly and quick. Inside, the cafe is quirky and welcoming. Outside, we never felt forgotten and there were nice people with dogs to talk to on the next table. Prices were more than reasonable - I think about £9/10 per head with our tea and coffee. We left with two massive slabs of their homemade cakes which are just amazing. Highly recommend Cafe Carmel to everyone. Too busy enjoying the food to take any photos but I have no hesitation in giving 5*****! 😄

Pros: Fantastic vegan breakfast - the best sausages!, Friendly and welcoming - including dogs! , Amazing cakes!

Cons: Limited parking right outside but we got lucky. :)

A bit disappointing

Very friendly staff and dog friendly

Went on a Sunday so as it was the end of the week they said they were out of stock of lots of things- pastry bake, crepes, soup, scones.

The pasty wasn’t to my taste, odd texture and flavour.
Garlic mushroom on toast was too strong- overpowering however nice bread.

The coffee was lovely and decaf available, a nice cake selection.

Coconut Ice cream didn’t have flavour and was icey. The honeycomb was just like syrup water.

Pros: Cheap, Nice coffee and cake selection

Cons: Lots of out stock , Flavours not to my taste

Hello, Sad to hear u didn't have a good experience at ours. May I ask what time you came in on a Sunday? We make all our scones and pastries fresh so on Sunday afternoon it's likely that we would not have a full range of our baked goods as we have sold out and as we are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so can't risk the food waste of making more. We are very conscious of food waste. Apologies about the icecream, we would not of charged you or changed it if we had known it was up to standard. We pride ourselves resolving any issues asap to make your visit pleasant. Team cafe carmel x

Thank you so much for your comments. We did think our timing wasn’t great- was around 2 o’clock.
We would like to come again, maybe a weekday but always appreciate a vegan cafe anywhere.

A lovely place and a life saver!

Well I always over-order when it’s a totally vegan place. It’s still a bit of a novelty to me! We ordered a ploughman’s, soup of the day which came with lovely chunky bread, a breakfast and drinks. It was delicious and the atmosphere was so chilled and relaxed. Check opening times as it’s Wednesday onwards usually. Worth a coastal day out with a lunch stop here!

Pros: 100% vegan, Tasty food , Chilled atmosphere

Found this place while on holiday in the area. Wonderful little café, just grabbed some takeout cake then left, but it was so good that I came back for more!

Reasonably priced, very friendly, good choice of food, and people in there each time I came in so must be popular. Dogs welcome too.
