dining hall concept

casual food, order at the bar, long tables, bench seats, slightly similar concept to wagamama, but more bohemian. food is good, and plenty of vegan options, although portions are rather small, 3 dishes between 2 seemed a bit scarce, even with extra rice. lots of throwaway involved, disposable utensils and plates / bowls, although we are assured they are bio degradable, seems unnecessarily wasteful to me

Pros: tasty food, good bar selection

Cons: small portions , some dishes not so healthy , disposable stuff

My new go to place.

This is my new favourite place to get food in Manchester. It's Vegetarian and Vegan. It's a great place for take away, casual food, nights out, dinner, you name it, it's got it. Even has alcohol for those who drink.

Pros: Great for all occasions , Everything is recyclable even the cutlery. , Great vibe and staff

Cons: Smaller drinks portions if you take-away, Discount on takeaway drinks is only for alcohol!

Strange but fun concept.

This place was really full (despite the place being huge!) but we managed to squeeze onto a table. Large variety and a cool veggie menu deal, which we took as well as a couple of extras. The food was fairly quick and quite tasty. The staff were friendly but the place can be a bit loud.

Pros: lots of vegan options

Cons: Bit loud

purely amazing

Quirky place with lots of small nice touches. A bit like a very nice canteen. Food is realllllllllllly good. Loads of vegan and vegetarian options. Top place to go if you are in the centre of Manchester and want a quick meal or evening drink and food (craft beer selection is pretty damn good)

Pros: fast food, tasty, craft beers

Best curry in Manchester

I grew up eating authentic curries and have really struggled to find curries I find truly satisfying since moving to Europe, Bundobust really brings back all my best curry memories. I didn't expect to taste such complexity (or is it simplicity) in little paper tubs in a casual environment of a place that feels like a chain. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the idli and I wish they offered more vegan curries and not just bhajis and dhal. Please also include rotis or flatbreads that are vegan-friendly otherwise thank you so much for such amazing and reasonably priced food.

Pros: Gorgeous flavours, Good prices, The okra fries!

Cons: Too few vegan curries and breads, Basement location is a bit grim

Fast, Simple Vegan Food

You may have to wait a while for a table as it does get very busy, but you can wait at the bar and have a nice drink, they do lots of craft beers and cocktails, but they can be quite pricey.

A good amount of vegan options on the menu, but it's all standard stuff - chana masala, tarka dahl, masala dosa -
the stuff veggies have to eat when they go to any Indian... Would be nicer to have some more unusual dishes added to the menu to try. Like the okra fries - they are really tasty.

The portions are quite small, it suggests 5 between 2 people but we usually go for 6 - but it's ok value for money, what you would expect to pay for Manchester city centre.

Overall, it's tasty food for the city centre, but we'd love to have more vegan options and more unusual options to try.

Great stuff

Another great Happy Cow find! Six of us came for dinner, a couple of carnivores, three veggies and me, the vegan. Great, varied menu and plenty of options for everyone. We went for the Everything On The Menu Combo, fabulous choice. With some sides added we paid £12.50 each. Great value for what we got. Everything was delicious and it fed six easily. The chickpeas and ochra fries were particularly scrumptious. Cocktails were also very gorgeous and not too expensive.
Staff were friendly and helpful, though food and drinks must be ordered at the bar, which seemed a bit unfitting to the vibe of the place. Personally would have preferred table service, but obviously not a massive issue. Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely eat here again.

Pros: Gorgeous food, Great staff, Reasonable prices

Cons: No table service

excellent in every way

Stellar, all-vegetarian food, excellent beer selection, super friendly service, loads of space AND really good taste in music. Not sure if I could imagine a better place.

Disposable

Unfortunately they serve all food in containers that are thrown away. Even though you are eating in there are no proper plates or cutlery. I hate waste, so no matter how good the food is, I'd prefer to go somewhere with a more progressive culture of reduce and re-use.

Pros: Nice food

Cons: Wasteful packaging

fab food

9 of us ate here yesterday. Varied menu suiting veg and vegan alike. Our table (6 non vegans) had the 6 person combo which is everything from the menu. There was plenty for everyone. Three vegans had dosa, daal with rice and the best onion bhaji ever. Great value and amazing tasty food. Good value wine and range of beers. Super friendly staff. Wish we had one in London.

Pros: great value, tasty food, lovely staff

Cons: only Leeds and Manchester are lucky to have one!

Ooft!

What an amazingly delicious surprise! The food was not like any Indian I've tasted before! The staff were pleasant and accommodating and the atmosphere was great. It was so good in fact we came back the next day for take out!

nice, clearly labelled Indian street food

This is an interesting place - all veggie and vegan and nice design. Food comes in small paper bowls rather than on plates. Lots to choose from and although the bowls seem small a couple does the job nicely. Okra chips were really good as was the chick pea dish - I would recommend! Lots of vegan dishes and some that can be made vegan - clearly marked which ones and staff are knowledgeable. The girl that served me was vegan too!

Loved it

Visited Bundobust for the first time today, and it was 100% worth the trip from Liverpool. I can honestly say this is the only Indian food I've ever ate and I never felt sick afterwards, we ate a lot as well! I was a bit worried how spicy some of the dishes would be, but non of them were too spicy that you couldn't taste the food! The restaurant/bar inside is really nice aswell, very casual yet it has a cool vibe about it!

Please open up a Bundobust in Liverpool asap!

Pros: Most dishes are made vegan (if not already vegan) , Great craft beers, Friendly staff

Cons: none

Tasty Street Food

This place is all vegetarian with over 50% of the menu either vegan or veganisable. It's all small plates of Indian street food, and at lunchtime you can get 2 dishes for £7. I had the okra fries (hearty portion, really crispy and spicy) and a dosa (great texture, good potato filling and a lentil soup on the side). Everything was nicely spiced without being uncomfortably hot. It's not table service, you need to order at the bar. The food was ready quickly, and I really enjoyed it.

Pros: Reasonably priced
