Delicious food and craft beer - Edit
The food was amazing. We opted for a vegan sharing plate for £33. We were able to have a selection of dishes. The beers are labelled with most of them being vegan. The mango lassi pale was delicious!

Great food and lovely atmosphere - Edit
I’ve been to the bundobust in Leeds before but the Liverpool location has to be even better!
Read moreFirst of all, the location is perfect and the exterior/interior is so cool - love the layout and the vibe. The staff were super friendly, happy and excited to be there. We sat near the window and it was great to watch the street as we chatted.
We tried the sprout Bhaji- a Christmas special and it’s a combo that should always exist! So good!!
We didn’t get the combo this time as it went to waste last time, instead we worsened 2 curries, some okra fries and the bhajis. The right amount and tasted delicious. Always hits the spot
Pros: Tasty, warming food , Always exciting new things to try , Great atmosphere and staff

A solid favourite of mine - Edit
Vegetarian Indian street food on Bold Street, and most of their menu is vegan 🌱
Read moreThey’re all small dishes so we usually order 5-6 dishes between two people. Everything tastes so fresh and full of flavour 🤤
Bundobust also have their own brewery so if you’re into craft beer etc then you’ll probably appreciate the selection 🍻 I’m more of a cocktail girl myself so was pleased to see that all of their cocktails are vegan friendly 🍹
It’s such a great spot to go for food before a night out and also a prime people watching venue if you’re nosy like me & manage to get a window seat!! 🫣
Pros: Lots of vegan food & drink, Small business, Fresh flavourful food
Cons: Single use plates & cutlery

Vegan-friendly Indian vegetarian Gastro-Pub - Edit
No-frills Indian-food gastro-pub, with many clearly labelled vegan dishes. Affordable prices, tasty food, very generous portions. Can be overcrowded and loud on weekends. Not for a fancy outing: simple bench seating, single-use paper dishes/cutlery

My go-to for vegan food - Edit
My favourite restaurant. Large variety of vegan dishes that are all extremely good. Many are very filling. Great beer selection. Food served relatively fast too; I've been here twice with work at lunchtime and we're back in time for 1pm meetings! I've brought meat eating family and friends here and they loved it.

Street food and beer! - Edit
My only struggle here is that there is so much to choose from, I almost over-ordered! This is a street food menu and you order via a webpage, so you can keep adding on additional plates to try.
Read moreI ordered Sweetcorn Chevdo and the Vada Pav - effectively, a mashed potato burger!
Also, big shout out to the beer menu. Bundobust brew their own beer and have a good list of other craft beers available.
Pros: Great beer choice, lots of local beers represented, Big menu, lots to choose from, Good value
Cons: At its busiest, some drinks orders went missing

In Liverpool for work and needed to grab a quick bite. Given the chilled atmosphere, it was a perfect spot to have good food, a decent pint and feel comfortable using a kindle inside!

Great food and easy ordering process - Edit
I loved this place. I find it hard to get vegan paratha so this was incredible. You can order from your seat via a code on your table and we did this. They had 4 mocktails which is great. I had the kachumber cooler and it was really refreshing. My partner had the sharab mukt crush which he liked.
Read moreWe ordered 5 different dishes. Okra fries, aloo gobhi paratha, bhajis, rajma and rice and Bel puri. The dishes were all nice. I expected the rajma might be plain but it was really tasty, spicy and well cooked. The okra fries were crisp, generous serving size and I loved the spice on the outside.
I wish we had a branch in Melbourne.

Indian Chain - Edit
Good beers and good food. Not the true indian experience, more a fusion and chain kind of restaurant. The food was good nonetheless. Location is very central in Liverpool.

Indian for lunch? Yes please - Edit
Bundobust, located in Bold Street is probably my new favourite lunch place. The interior of the restaurant reminds me of the canteen in my previous office but with better food, a bar, and without the dinner ladies.
Read moreMy Indian friend recommended me this place - he said that he prefers this place than Mowgli - so it must be very good. The restaurant caters for both vegan and vegetarian. They offer a weekday lunch set menu for £9. There are plenty of beer options too. However since I don't drink, I'm going to skip on the alcohol on this review.
In the regular British-Indian restaurant, you would see a lot of 'korma', 'jalfrezi', or 'madras'. In Bundobust, they serve Indian home/ street food, such as rajma, chaat, bhel puri, and pav bhaji. Since my favourite legume is kidney beans, so naturally I ordered rajma with rice with a side of okra fries.
I have made rajma a few times before and I love it - but Bundobust's rajma is better. It's warm, tomatoey, perfectly balanced, not too spicy, and is the perfect companion for basmati rice, but I wish the portion could be a bit bigger. The okra fries were surprisingly crispy - but I found them a tad too salty.
Although the food was amazing, I'm unsure why do they opt for disposable cutlery and food containers? Perhaps this is done to mimic the street food feelings?
But still, it won't change my decision to pick Bundobust from now on for lunch.

Okra fries. Every time I eat here, I have to have okra fries, they’re amazing. They have a takeout lunch menu which is discounted, as well as the eat in menu. Compostable single use cutlery and single use paper plates and bowls, everything I’ve eaten there has been delicious.

Best Indian Food! - Edit
This is a small chain with other branches in Leeds and Manchester. I think this Liverpool one is the newest. The menu is veggie and, I would say, 80% vegan. There are a few dishes with yoghurt or paneer and a few which contain egg. We got the vegan combo for 2 and I think it's the best, tastiest Indian food I've ever had. The portions were generous and the set platter left us feeling full. The wines are all vegan which is always a plus for me. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was warm and inviting with lots of seating. It's just a shame that it isn't fully vegan because it so easily could be. Absolutely fantastic place totally recommended!

Authentic Indian food - Edit
We really enjoyed eating the food here. We came on a weekend lunch (before covid restrictions fully lifted), and didn’t need a reservation. We thought it was really authentic Indian food (I am British Indian). A waitress was telling us about the Indian owners and Indian chefs. We particularly enjoyed the okra fries and the smacked cucumber.

Hair in the Okra Fries 🤦🏻♀️ - Edit
I’m a huge fan of Indian food and nipped in to get food to take away. The okra fries were generally okay but once I found a hair in them I was happy to throw the food away - grossed me out and it didn’t taste great before hand. Massively disappointed.
