Finally a vegan additive free place! - Edit
So nice to find a place that is fully vegan AND wholefoods! I had the Bamboo basket set which was beautifully presented and came with several vegetables (FINALLY a place that gives you a decent size of greens and not just a tiny portion!), brown rice (also greatly appreciated, seeing how many places that simply serve refined rice), seaweed (yum!), miso soup and a few other small things. It was perhaps a little pricy, but worth it for a Japanese wholefoods meal. The staff were helpful and the owner really nice. Would have enjoyed to sit by a low Japanese table as well, but the area was nice despite reminding me of hip Western places. The only thing I really missed was that it wasn't open later (to 7 pm would be terrific) and that they didn't have sugar free desserts. Anyhow, I would gladly come back!

Great atmosphere, meh food - Edit
I love the atmosphere, and the dessert was good enough, but the food was rather meh. Some small tasty bits, but mostly bland. Healthy I’m sure, just not very tasty.

Tasty & healthy but overpriced - Edit
Came here with my non-vegan family for their very first vegan meal and all of us liked their food!
Read moreThey have 1-soup 3-dishes meal for which is Japanese traditional “healthy meal” set, and the menu is changed weekly.
Each dish is really good, small portion yet fulfils your mind. But for me ¥2,200 for this portion and quality is expensive. You could have better meal for cheaper price.
But having set meal for the whole afternoon and lovely service are good points!
Pros: Tasty food, all vegan , Good service
Cons: Expensive

Relatively small portions for the price - Edit
Delicious, especially if you look for a more high end vegan restaurant in Tokyo, but the portions could be a little bit more generous.

Stylish design and outdoor seating, happy & helpful staff (in both English and Japanese). Fully vegan and the lunch menu was 100% wheat free the day I went. Very tasty and creative food. I will definitely go back.

Hidden place. ちょっと隠れ家。 - Edit
It’s hidden away from the main Omotesando road in one of the back alleys. For lunch, they offer three set meal options, I had today’s special and my sister had steamed veggies. They all tasted good but not much stood out and the portion was a bit underwhelming for the price (one set is around ¥1700).

Brown Rice - Edit
Brown Rice Cafe is a very nice restaurant offering traditional Japanese food. While I appreciate healthy, creative food, I did not care very much for my meal. I got a set menu which came with very soft tofu that did not taste good at all. The rest of the food was mostly picked vegetables and miso soup. Overall, felt disappointed by this meal. I would not revisit this restaurant if I were to return to Tokyo. I rated it 3 cows because it wasn't awful, it was just very much not for me.

Incredible - Edit
Absolutely adored our meal here. Had the set lunch with a beautiful herbal tea. The lunch consisted of miso soup, brown rice, various pickled veg, a tofu cutlet dish and some spiced potatoes. Each part was beautifully presented and cooked. Amazing atmosphere and ambience. Favourite meal in Tokyo so far.

Absolutely amazing - Edit
The ambiance was lovely - it was simply decorated with lots of greenery and some Japanese touches. The food presentation was beautiful, and the entire menu is vegan and Japanese. The food itself was delicious and each dish offered a unique flavour. The dishes were clearly well thought out and created to perfection. The deserts were also very tasty. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful meal, somewhat overpriced - Edit
The food presentation and atmosphere at Brown Rice are top notch. We sat in the backyard area which is at the entrance to an organic store of some sort. The store had essential oils diffusing and the patio of the restaurant was burning incense. I enjoyed both but a consideration for those sensitive to scents. I ordered the curry set lunch. The rice and veggies were excellent but the curry was just ok. My partner ordered the daily special set lunch which featured ginger tofu. It was quite good. Overall the food was light and clean but filling. The kabocha flan was subtle and not very sweet. Overall it was a very nice experience and tasty but pricey for the amount of food.

Very delicious! - Edit
Me and my boyfriend were here for lunch today.
Read moreThe menu is rather small, consisting of 3 sets (a curry, a steamed vegetable set and a seasonally changing set), a couple of drinks and a couple of desserts.
I had the steamed vegetable set which came with a miso soup, dipping sauce, rice and pickled vegetables.
My boyfriend had the seasonal set which currently is fried tofu on salad with a miso soup and rice with pickled vegetables.
Both of the dishes were insanely delicious. The staff was very attentive and they had an English menu.
I believe it was a bit pricey, but we were ok with that.
Would definitely recommend coming here, if you're in Tokyo.

Wonderful food and atmosphere - Edit
This place has such a nice vibe, with high quality platn based food. They have 3 set menus you can pick from plus 5 desserts. Price is fair for the quality and portions. The lemoncheescake is very tasty, not too sweet and perfect texture. Staff is very kind and speak good English. Lovely outdoor seating if weather permits.

If you visit Tokyo you must visit Brown Rice. I had a delicious traditional meal from the lunch time set menu which featured seasoned brown rice, a little tomato salad, miso soup, fried potato, some pickled radishes with ginger, and fried tofu balls to be dipped in a soy sauce. For desert I chose the lemon tofu cheesecake. Beautiful food in a serene surrounding. I would love to come back.
