Delicious must try brioche donuts and sandwiches - Edit
I tried the pumpkin cheddar biscuit and Muffanada sandwich. My favorite of the two was the Muffanada. I found the taste to be delectable especially with the addition of the olive salad that helped add to the creaminess of the sandwich. The combination of vegan Italian ham, vegan bacon, and provolone cheese helped add to the flavor.
Read moreI'm not a huge fan of pumpkin but the pumpkin cheddar biscuit was very tasty and flavorful. The sausage helped add a little heat to the sandwich, making the sandwich that more delicious.
For dessert I tried the cinnamon roll brioche as well as a chocolate glazed brioche filled with Boston cream, a plain chocolate glazed, and the two special stuffed brioche donuts which were tiramisu and king's cake. My two favorites of the ones I tired were the chocolate glazed with Boston cream and the cinnamon roll brioche.
Also enjoyed their hot chocolate with oat milk, which was creamy in texture that added to the chocolate taste.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT IN TOWN - Edit
Great menu selection: hot, cold, sides, sandwiches, of course fresh bread and pastries… much more variety than many other cafés out there. Not even to mention the rotating special menu. All delicious. Great and comfy location, drinking bowl for dogs in the front area, cats in the back patio, and board games in the back seating area. Staff are always helpful and cheery.

Wish we had this in Chicago! - Edit
Love that there’s an entire bakery that’s all vegan. We were told the pumpkin cheddar breakfast biscuit was amazing, so I ended up getting that and it did NOT disappoint! Probably one of the best vegan breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. Also got a tea scone, which was huge and very good. Service was fast as well.

Delicious baked goods, sweets and breads. The muffanada is fantastic and so is the live food sandwich! I highly recommend either location for breakfast or lunch.

A beautiful location with options to sit outside, inside or in the courtyard (with the cat). A real home cooked bakery feel, with great substantial bread and tasty thickly filled sandwiches.

A Vegan Brunch Delight at Breads on Oak - Edit
Breads on Oak is a gem of a brunch spot, offering an array of vegan delights that will leave even the staunchest carnivore questioning their allegiance to meat. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat, although the service left a bit to be desired.
Read moreOur indecisiveness led us to order an assortment of dishes.. The Veggie Quiche stole the show with its seasonal vegetables, organic sprouted tofu, and a crust that boasted the essence of garden herbs. It was a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds.
Next up was the Egg O’Vegan Breakfast sandwich, a hearty creation featuring tofu scramble, vegan bacon, and melted cheese, all nestled between slices of their organic house-made buttermilk biscuit. The combination of savory and comforting elements made this sandwich a standout.
Biscuit Tower. Stacked high with layers of buttermilk biscuit, provolone-style cheese, housemade garbanzo bean sausage, and sprouted tofu scramble, this dish was a towering testament to vegan innovation.
To round off our meal, we indulged in a Strawberry Lemon Boston Cream Donut. Its sweet strawberry frosting and tart lemon cream filling were a delightful contrast, and it was hard to believe that such decadence could be achieved without the use of animal products.
While the food was undeniably outstanding, the same couldn't be said for the service. We found ourselves standing at the counter for quite some time before receiving any acknowledgment, and the condiment and utensil area left much to be desired. However, these minor hiccups were easily forgiven in light of the culinary delight that awaited us.
In conclusion, Breads on Oak is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delectable vegan fare. While the service may leave something to be desired, the food more than makes up for it. Whether you're a committed vegan or simply curious about plant-based cuisine, this charming brunch spot is sure to leave you satisfied and eager for a return visit.
Pros: Fresh food not processed , Great Dinning Area , Amazing food you can’t go wrong
Cons: Service could have been better, Utensil area could use a little attention

Excellent, best of Nola - Edit
Do not miss out on this place. Both locations are excellent and have the breakfast menu which is great. We also enjoyed the coffee and bread. Just wish there were some of the more exciting pastries available which I got to try pre-covid - I would pay very good money for a croissant or filled pastry from them so please bring them back (sorry but a scone or cookie isn't going to whet my appetite.

A gem in my US trip! - Edit
From the nutritious and tasty fresh food, the crunchy and light bread, to the sweet options and chai latte, I really felt lucky for having found this place! Such a gem in my US trip! Vegan, gluten free, socially responsabile, friendly people, warm environment - it has all the good things to share! It's really a place where to stop on your visit in N.O. or become regular if you live nearby 😉 I tried both locations, and personally preferred this one for the atmosphere and broader bread options.
