Pricy but reliable - Edit
If you need a nice place to take omni friends, relatives, business associates and still eat well, this is it. Reservations require some advanced planning but you can reliably get a spot on the patio without one during patio season. Bring a jacket though because it will get cold all of a sudden in the evening.
Read moreThey always seem to have 2-3 vegan mains. The new curry cavatelli pasta is good. The verdura pizza is also good but they need to make the crust a bit thicker so it doesn't come out cracker thin. You can also count on them to always have a good dessert offering. Currently, that is a vegan creme brûlée.
I'd like to see them add more vegan appetizers or adapt some of the vegetarian ones to be easily veganized (they cannot be today).
Pros: Vegan options, Impressive setting
Cons: Vegan pizza prone to overcooking

Vegan options - Edit
The number of vegan options has grown & they even have a vegan mozzarella, but didn’t get it on my pizza. Nice salads & we tried the vegan coconut crème brûlée for dessert. I thought it was ok, but my spouse really loved it! I’ve had the falafel bowl in the past which was really good as well.

Great vibe, falafel bowl divine - Edit
The description on this app if the vegan brunch bowl option should be updated as I was informed it has not been on the menu for a very long time. I went with the falafel bowl and it was the very best falafel bowl I have ever had. Delish!

Limited vegan options - Edit
Very good vegan pizza. The pizza chef was an incredibly friendly guy and offered to make any pizza vegan. There were not a lot of vegan options on the menu otherwise. Everything was clearly marked.

Awesome view, awesome food - Edit
This was my first visit to Boom + Batten and I was so pleased with everything. The service was great, the food was outstanding, the view was beautiful.
Read moreDuring our city's Dine Around program (set menus for a set price), this was the ideal time to try someplace I'd wanted to for a while. We were seated at a table overlooking the water and that set the tone for the evening.

Pros: Great food, Beautiful location, Nice vegan options

Great food and cool vibes - Edit
A whole vegan menu with a variety of options including pizzas, vegetables dishes, salads and pastas . We had the carrot dish as a starter which was superb, came with a tasty sauce. For the main I had the ‘macaroni and broccoli’ - this was delicious with a couple of different vegan cheeses and lots of vegetables. Far from boring. For dessert, I had the avocado chocolate mousse which hit the spot. The atmosphere in the restaurant was vibrant, with a DJ and bar. The waiter was as attentive as you would get at a high end restaurant. Overall great food and great experience. My fiancée who eats meat also very much enjoyed his food.

Nice restaurant! - Edit
It's a nice location on the water with a beautiful view on Victoria. You have to ask for an extra vegan/vegetarian/gluten free menu, but they have quite a few options. I ordered a delicious vegan pizza with kale, squash, pesto and cashew mozarella and shared a mix of three small desserts. The food didn't take too long and the waitress was super nice. The only negatif aspects I can tell are the fact that the prices are not super low (but you also get good food quality) and the music was slightly too loud.

Elegant option by the water - Edit
I went to try out Boom & Batten a few weeks ago and plan on going back really soon.
Read moreI went at an odd hour, so I didn't need a reservation.
The restaurant has a vegan menu and what we ordered was very nicely plated and very tasty. Coffee was also really good with a few options for the milk alternative.
Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.
Literally a floating gem, right on the Songhees walkway. Worth a visit and a repeat visit or two!
Pros: Nicely plated and tasty foods, Vegan menu, Great coffee and a few milk alt options
