Best vegan baked goods - Edit
I always look forward to stopping here when I’m in Toronto and loading up on delicious vegan baked goods. Peterborough (where I’m from) is definitely lacking in the vegan sweet stuff! Great lattes too - I live the turmeric one.

Hit or Miss - Edit
I’ve been to Bloomer’s before and had their tempeh burger and was hoping to order it again but unfortunately it’s not on the menu anymore. My cousin and I ordered the tempeh wings with sweet garlic sauce, side caesar, tofu club, and black bean mushroom seitan burger. The caesar salad was average, tempeh wings were amazing and super flavorful, but the tofu club and seitan burger were pretty disappointing - both were kind of dry and flavorless. Overall, I think the food is kind of a hit and miss since their tempeh burger from their old menu was amazing.
Read moreEdit: Came back and had their donuts and cobb salad. Donuts were really nice and sweet but oily and the salad was average.
Pros: Great vegan selection, good service
Cons: Some dishes dry and flavorless

AMAZING food and service - Edit
This was my favorite meal in Toronto so far. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the cobb salad with dressing on the side - and let me tell you, it didn't even need the dressing! This salad was not your average bowl of lettuce. It was so flavorful and full of delicious hearts-of-palm, beans, olives, pickled onions, and more! For dessert, I got an avocado chocolate chip muffin to go - another fantastic item. My husband ordered the BBQ Jackfruit burger, peanut butter snickers bar, and chocolate chip cookie. All were delicious, although he did say that the snickers bar was very filling and had a lot of peanut butter in it. So definitely only get that if you LOVE peanut butter.
Read morePros: Amazing food at very reasonable prices, Large servings - I couldn't even finish my salad, Board games while you wait!
Cons: Honestly can't think of one!

Full-on Lunch - Edit
I was a bit hesitant at first as the price seemed a bit on the expensive side but I was not let down. The sandwiches are filled up to the brim and they do not compromise on quality or flavour. I had the Tempeh sandwich which was a mix of buttery, pro-biotic goodness. I also got the soup because of the deal available. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I couldn't eat it all despite skipping breakfast as there was a lot to eat so I've got dinner covered! The coffee was to the same, high standard as the food. I did not regret spending a few extra dollars in the slightest.

Only tried the donuts. Took them to go while passing through town on our road trip. Wish we had a Bloomer's closer too home! So yum!

Love this place - Edit
I am pretty sure I’ve tried all the donut shops in the Toronto area and this one is my favourite. The donuts are fluffy and yeasty. I really like the carrot cake and cinnamon buns as well

food is hit or miss; baked goods always delish - Edit
I was very excited when Bloomers opened because I had always made a point to attend their booth at the Vegetarian Food Fair. They would always have these really yummy Icelandic donuts called kleinurs. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell these at the restaurant - at least never at a time that I have been there.
Read moreThe food is only ok. I am not particularly drawn to junk food for my meals (as opposed to dessert!) so not a lot appeals to me. I have enjoyed the tofu club sandwich, but I find a lot of things (fries included) way too salty.
However, the baked goods are amazing! The donuts are spectacular - try the rose pistachio; it's out of this world. I had the elderberry hibiscus recently - yum! The chocolate and peanut butter cookies is very good too.
I would agree with a previous review that staff are nice but a bit cool/cold.
Pros: donuts are amazing, baked goods, space is inviting; great place to meet friends
Cons: food too salty

Best vegan cafe latte I had in 6 years - Edit
The make really good cup of coffees. Basically the only vegan cafe latte on my 6 years of travel that I liked(although I stopped trying for a while, too scared of it tasting too bad).

Meh - Edit
I got the poutine and tempeh wings with BBQ sauce. I was with my friend and we shared the dishes. Honestly, I was really disappointed... Both of the meals were WAY too salty! And I like salty food! It just made it so that I couldn’t really enjoy the food much. The ranch with the wings was amazing tho. Also, I got the worst stomach ache after eating here and I felt really sick for a while! It was bad... And I’m very used to eating junk food and that hasn’t happened to me before. My friend said the same thing, she is not vegan and I was really hoping to impress her with some delicious vegan food since she hasn’t had vegan food before but we were both disappointed. It was just way too salty to the point where I couldn’t eat it. Waste of money tbh

Incredible doughnuts - Edit
Stopped by in hopes of having lunch but the place was full. I'm surprised by that now that I've tried their food. Decided to get some doughnuts for take out. Picked the cinnamon sugar, vanilla glazed, Boston crème and the jelly. Wow. Talk about light and fluffy. We couldn't resist the cinnamon sugar one and ate it on the drive back north. We've sampled the jelly and that too is amazing. Amply filled and so flavourful. Can't wait to go back and have lunch there. The prices were very reasonable for the size and quality of the products

Go for the donuts, stay because you can! - Edit
Bloomers seems always to be open. Their donuts are probably the best in town. There are various donut places to choose from now, but honestly I haven't had one as good or as fresh as Bloomers (don't even bother with Apiecolpyse! I'm sorry it's true! Pizza is dazzling but donuts are two steps below Bloomers.)
Read moreThey have these great chocolate peanut butter "snickers" type bars that I can't seem to stay away from. My father (meat and dairy eater) was blow away by their muffins. The chocolate peanut butter cookie is probably their best thing.
They serve savory food too that's pretty mouth watering.
Pros: hours and space, best donuts in town, good range of baked goods
Cons: I've found the savory service a little slow

Fantastic doughnuts! - Edit
This lovely cafe has great opening hours, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their healthy options like salads are great, but the savoury 'junk food' items like poutines and sandwiches are delicious too. Their doughnuts and cakes are fantastic - especially the raspberry and cinnamon doughnuts, and they have really nice decor too. It's also very conveniently close to the subway station.

Amazing muffin! - Edit
I had really tasty muffin at Bloomer's (peach crumbles), maybe one of the best I had so far! Really recommend to go just for the muffin. The coffee is good too. The sandwich I got (I think it was pulled pork) was tasty but it had a bit oily after taste. Another good thing is that if you have work to do you can sit there with your laptop with no problem.

Delicious!! - Edit
Lovely all vegan bakery!! I ordered a tofu club sandwich (service was slow, took about 45 mins) - but it was delicious. My chai latte lacked flavour. I tried two doughnuts - chocolate dipped & cookie one.... both were incredible!! I also ordered a tempeh reuben sandwich to go for my flight home later that day, which was also delicious. Nice space, very busy, but would recommend!

Desserts galore! - Edit
We were in Toronto for 2 days and had to try this place for desserts, since it was top rated in Happy Cow. We weren't disappointed! We got a wild blueberry muffin and the carrot cake -- both really delicious (although I found the carrot cake icing a bit too sweet, but my husband says it was perfect). Highly recommend to satisfy a sweet tooth, and knowing everything served is vegan takes the pressure off of inquiring. Will definitely go back when in town again.
