Best experience yet - Edit
Really cozy vibe, great food that's really simple to make at the same time. The menu is not too big, but anyone can find something to eat. Totally vegan. And the workers are really friendly

Best restaurant in Gothenburg - Edit
The food here is always on point, and coming here is a must every time I visit Gothenburg. I like how they change up the menu every now and then, so I get to try new dishes each time I visit.

Just fantastic punk vegan - Edit
Loved this place. It's a pubby punk place, very welcoming and chilled out. The food is classic vegan (really nice homemade seitan) with some local twists. Just great

Blackbird is the best awesomest vegan place in Göteborg and beyond. They make their own seitan products and organizes a lot of fun events.

Delicious, varied, but expensive - Edit
I ate here and had a udon noodle bowl and the restaurant’s own beer. Both were fantastic and I couldn’t fault them at all! The only thing that holds me back from 5* is the small portion size for the, relatively, expensive price.

Not one single thing I would change - Edit
Their food is absolutely amazing! And they change their menu quite often so everytime I go there it's something new to try.
Read moreI don't think it's a pricy place either.
Quite small so better book a table!
My dad don't appreciate the music played but I love it, so if you're not in to rock/punk/metal it's your loss
Update 2024: I wish I could give this place 5 out of 5 stars more times. Its incredible!!

Highly recommend - Edit
From when we first entered the bar we knew we were in the right spot! It was extremely warm and welcoming with very helpful staff. We had two appetisers and mains which we shared as well as a dessert and could not stop praising how delicious everything was. A few days later and we are still talking about how brilliant the "steak" was. Definitely a spot I'd come back to any time I was visiting.

Awesome food - Edit
Crispy fried seitan chicken was somehow fresh. Lovely seasoning. Just the right amount of salt (on everything). Huge portion for the fries. Awesome sauces… fresh ceasar sauce. Fry sauce had a lil sting. Awesome plating. Overall awesome. 9.5/10.
Read moreLoves the crispy salad too. Fresh ingredients.
Tiniest nitpick that I would’ve liked the chickpeas roasted and crispy like the breadcrums. Otherwise basically perfect. GO HERE!!!
Lovely the creativeness in having seaweed on the fries as well. Fries also fries to perfection and somehow felt fresh.
Again, awesome. Go here.
The praline tasted like Swedish Aladdin Christmas, but again. Fresh! And with love. ♥️

Delicious! - Edit
Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. We tried the chili cheeze balls, the baguette with saitan roast beef and the rice noodle salad with ginger tofu. All of it was amazing. My personal highlight was the "vegall" dessert, the nougat was sooo creamy. Well worth the money and the calories 😋

Great food with good range of choices, nice beer. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had the linguine and my husband had the tofu salad - both were delicious. Desserts were not quite as nice, but that was just our taste. Good price.

Incredible food at a vegan bar - Edit
The food was delicious at this small but perfectly formed bar. Also have to shout-out the staff who were super helpful and considerate - giving us a menu in English to save on translation.

Hearty tasty food - Edit
I had the cheese plate starter. It came with 3 cheeses: a creamy dessert cheese, smoked cheese and hard cheese with apricot and caramelised red onion. The creamy dessert cheese was excellent, it was smooth and creamy and had quite a strong taste that was a bit pungent. I probably wouldn’t want it in my dessert. The other two cheeses were quite similar, they tasted good but the textures were a bit grainy. The accompaniments were all good, there was a good crisp seedy cracker, the little round cracker reminded me of an Indian Mathi and the slice of sourdough was covered in herb butter. There was a rhubarb marmalade with a hint of earl grey (that I couldn't pick), and some red onion marmalade which was more like some lightly pickled slices of red onion. They were both enjoyable accompaniments but nothing wild. It was a good hearty plate for a starter that was reflected in the price, with it being about 50% more expensive than the other available starters.
Read moreFor mains, I went for the summer burger. A seitan burger in sourdough bread with mayo, lettuce, rocket pesto and homemade mozzarella. Of course, I paid extra to get the fries too. The patty was fine, nice and crispy on the outside and had a good savoury taste. The mozzarella was very enjoyable with a good texture and taste. It was a good tasty burger overall and I preferred it to the one from the night before (from Bastard Burger). The chips were the real star of the show, they were round crinkle cuts that were folded into a v shape. They were incredibly crispy and perfectly seasoned, I could have eaten them all night long.

The food is great, always somethibg new but also always some take on traditional husmanskost. Starters, main dishes and desserts - equally fabulous. Great vibe, good beer and nice staff as well.
