Incredible noodles

We shared the Mappo tofu noodles, the fried tofu bao bun and the green onion pancake. The tofu bao bun was fine, better with the sweet chilli but I would probably skip it next time. The Mappo tofu noodles were incredible; a little spicy, super flavourful, it would be the perfect hangover meal. We messed up by coming here on day one because now we want to eat here every day of our trip!

Side note, the Taiwanese lychee beer is crazy good. It’d be perfect in summer.

My heart goes biang biang

I’ve been coming to this place for years and just recently started to get the vegan mapo tofu dish. Not to mention the marginal increase in price with the accompanying decrease of protein amount, biang biang only has two vegan options and they are both dry mix noodles. There are no vegan soup noodle options unfortunately so cold, rainy, days cannot be remedied with a bowl of hot soup noodles. That being said, I highly recommend the mapo tofu dry mix with either the vegetable dumplings or scallion pancake!

Edit: CocktailShaker has informed me that there is a third option! Curry tofu dry mix!

Pros: Peppercorn seasoning

Cons: High price point , Waits can be long around peak times , Staff are eager to bus your table

3! The curry tofu dry mix isn't labeled vegan, but they assured me that it is.

Tasteful Noods

This is my fave place to get takeout on Xmas Day. I’ve tried all 3 dry mix noodle options + the curry tofu is hands down my fave. I go extra spicy + still crave more of a kick, but I like that it doesn’t drown out the flavor. The dish comes w/3 long noodles + I always add an extra + split w/my partner.

The house chili tofu is bland + the sauce is hella sweet, but I’ll admit I’ve ordered it more than once. The spring rolls come w/the same sauce, but they’re perfectly crispy + recommendable. I tried the bao once + once was enough.

Pros: the noodles, the noodles, the noodles

Cons: customer service is hit + miss, parking is rough

Many options and delicious

There were lots of vegan options! I had the vegetable dumplings and Mapo Tofu Noodles. And they were soooo good! I have not had such a delicious meal in a very long time. And it’s just a block away from the Neko Cat Cafe!😄

Pros: Lots of options , Quick service, Very tasty

This is a gem

True to all the other reviews, the mapo tofu dry mix was amazing. The noodles were so good and the sauce was good as well. I also ordered a bao but was not a fan. It appears the bao May have been fried possibly? It was dripping with grease. The noodle dish is definitely the star of the show here.

Mapo tofu 🔥

Mapo tofu dry mix was very good. I ordered extra spicy and it was definitely warm🌶️ Also got the house chili tofu and enjoyed that too! Food came out fast. Not a huge menu in general but a handful of vegan options.

Delicious

Got the Mapo tofu dry mix, cucumber salad, and veggie dumplings and absolutely adored everything. The flavors were authentic to what I remember from my time in China and the service was first class. The staff were clearly very helpful towards one another and very kind to customers even when they were busy. My only critique is that the veganized house tofu with chili sauce was just fried tofu with a cup of sweet and sour sauce. I guess the original chili sauce had fish or something, but I wish they would have specified the change when I ordered it. Everything else was great.

Pros: Authentic, Good service
