I had breakfast here during a full break day (for me) in Zurich. I had the tofu scramble bagel, which came with a side salad. I ate around 9am, and the portion was enough to keep me full for an entire day of walking around the city. The salad was fresh and crunchy. The tofu scramble was good. The bagel itself cannot compete with the famous bagel locations of the world, but it was fine. Restaurant atmosphere is OK. A solid 4 all around:-)

The food at Beetnut is overall very nice, and the portions are quite generous (and yes, pricey). The cozy atmosphere filled with live plants is also lovely, as well as the big selection of gluten-free options. That being said, it's frustrating to advertise as "plant-based" but serve cheese (halloumi and feta), eggs, and salmon (as an add-on). There's even at least one dish on the menu with a vegan label, which actually contains fried egg (huevos rancheros).

I was very happy with my teriyaki bowl! Everything was fresh & the food was prepared very quickly (it wasn’t that busy tho). Also I really liked the vibe with all the plants!

Nice atmosphere and decent menu but it was a bit confusing. There are signs everywhere about "plant-based" food, but they do serve fish and cheese as well.
Read moreWe had the vegan chilli dog and Beetnut burger, which were very filling. They did have an odd wasabi-based aftertaste that I don't think worked. We also had hot chocolate, but we were given a mug of milk and a packet to make it ourselves, bit cheeky and produced quite a weak drink.
Also, very expensive but that's Switzerland for you.

Despite calling itself plantbased, this restaurant serves dairy, eggs and Norwegian farmed salmon. Most dishes are vegan by default though, with the option to add non-vegan items. My food was fine but nothing exceptional. Probably not the best spot for a burger, as healthy bowls seem to be their specialty.

Great tofu scramble - Edit
This place is fully vegetarian with plenty of vegan options. I went for the scrambled tofu bagel and friends went for the vegan tuna, vegan smoked salmon and açai bowl and all were delicious. Have to admit I really didn’t like the coffee, it tasted very acidic.

Tried their scrambled tofu breakfast plate and it was average. Coffee was pretty bad. But their tiramisu was delicious so would only come back for a dessert and tea, not food.

Read moreTried the strawberry matcha latte, chili, toast with vegan salmon, and pancakes. The matcha should be much stronger (for the price of 8.50CHF!) and the chili was a bit bland. The vegan salmon toast and pancakes were quite nice. You have to order on your phone.

This restaurant is extremely vegan friendly. They serve multiple vegan meals wich taste very good. The service is very friendly and communicative. They can tell you a lot things about the meals and their goal is to make the costumers happy.

I had the toast with carrot lox, which was incredible. My husband had the chili dog and our friend loves the burger. Everything was excellent and our server was super nice.

Really gorgeous place full of plants on every surface and hanging from the ceiling. Many great vegan options including scrambled tofu, well labelled. Multiple milk options. I had the berry pancake stack & an oat chai latte and wow! I was looking for a filling tasty breakfast to energise me for a day of sightseeing and this really hit the mark!

We had a « tuna » salad and it was good but too much dressing, not fantastic. We also had a blue smoothie bowl but no taste (too cold I guess). Otherwise I had two bowls of the day with TooGoodToGo and it was very tasty, so it depends.

Eine große Auswahl an veganen Frühstücksoptionen. Man bestellt übers Handy und bekommt dann alles an den Tisch gebracht. Wir hatten zwei Mal den Bagel mit Scrambled Tofu, dieser hätte gerne etwas würziger sein können. Das vegane Croissant war leider sehr trocken. Würde trotzdem wiederkommen und die anderen Optionen probieren.

Great place for some healthy food in the centre - Edit
Beetnut is close to the main train station and has great opening hours. It's open from 9 am on a Sunday, which is rare in Zürich!

Nice place close to the main station. Offers a variety of tasty bowls and sandwiches, awesome coffee as well as branded sustainable containers for food and drinks as merchandise. Cosy atmosphere - tables are arranged nicely and the whole location is decorated with plants.
