Super food and amazing ambience - Edit
The food was all very good. Foods from all different cultures where the chef comes from. We had amazing Romanian crepes with tomato sauce, tofu zinger and lasagna. The lasagna had the perfect Bolognese taste. The restaurant has a very good vibe and part of the income goes to savings and helping cats 😺. Also they played good music.

Pros: Romanian crepes , Good price , Good music
Cons: Small space, cozy but not a lot of seating.

Most amazing dinner in Amman! - Edit
AMAZING food and people! Highly recommend the zinger, shawarma, and veggie burger. All were prepared quickly and gave pretty big serving sizes. The owner is so warm and welcoming, and works on such amazing initiatives for animal rights in Jordan! 10/10 recommend even if you aren’t vegan!!

Delicious vegan food in Amman - Edit
This was my first time at Bayt Sara, and on her menu was a vegan shawarma, which I decided to try, and it was delicious! It was a huge portion of food as well. She also had a chocolate cake that was made without sugar, and it was a nice treat. I did not feel guilty after eating this when compared to a cake filled with sugar, and it was just as good!

Nothing better than a restaurant that gives back to the community. Sara’s activism is inspiring and as a business owner is incredibly welcoming - she makes delicious, homemade vegan cuisine with love. Not to be missed if you are passing thru Amman!

Unique place and people! Tasty food! - Edit
There is no other place in Jordan I would recommend as much as Bayt Sara's place for delicious vegan food. The place is quiet and comfy, the food wonderful, the quality is great! The portions of the food are big and you would never leave this place unsatisfied. During our 10-day stay in Jordan, my friends and I got to visit this place three times!! And we loved it every single time!
Read moreThe owner (Sara) and her brother are lovely and friendly people, very kind and social, combined with being excellent cooks both for main courses but also for desserts! Most importantly, they love animals and, besides being vegan and promoting veganism through their great cuisine, they also take care of the stray cats and dogs of Amman. A paradigm of people!
PS: The last time we visited their place I had a small stomachache from a food I had eaten the previous day elsewhere. Sara, as an exceptional and lovely person literally called her mother for a special herbal tea recipe to make me feel better, while she also prepared me an off-menu warm soup that made me feel great again.
I cannot say much more than, if you go to Jordan, you HAVE to visit this place, enjoy their food, and support their action to protecting the otherwise helpless animals.
A must-visit!!
Pros: friendly and animal-caring staff, delicious food, comfy place

Would recommend the tofu scramble - Edit
There are lots of options and I had the first day the tofu wrap and the second day the tofu scramble. I really liked the tofu scramble, the wrap was too big for one person. I could barely move after eating this.

Incredible food for an incredible cause - Edit
Not only was the food homemade with love, delicious and 100% vegan, the purpose behind her restaurant is amazing. Sara uses half of the profits to help raise funds for medical treatment for street cats, dogs and other animals around the area (including Petra and Wadi Mousa). Sara is very welcoming, passionate and caring. The portions are very large and in my opinion worth the money (particularly given where the money is going). I will definitely be back again and would recommend to anyone regardless of whether they are vegan.

Great food, people and cause - Edit
Amazing experience - casual setting, Sara introduces herself and explains the menu/options to you in great detail. Food was UNREAL, took my mum who isn’t vegan and she couldn’t believe it. Portions are enough for 2 people so great value for money. Sara also helped us a lot with the rest of our Jordan itinerary

Excellent Food & Excellent Cause - Edit
From the first bite, i fell in love with the food and the owner is passionate about animal rights and veganism. The restaurant is cozy with a hip vibe. It's a bit out of the way, but it's worth every step to get there. The portions were large and i had to take half with me for lunch tomorrow.

A vegan heaven in Amman - Edit
When we took our lunch seats at Bayt Sara, Sara began to address us for over 20 minuits or so with all the causes she was involved in, from stray cats to all other animal issues, organizing annual Vegan festival, helping needy women and refugees, dream of opening a shelter for animals in Petra to doing a Cooking show for a LA TV channel. Then, she ran down the day's menu - phew ! It was in fact pretty hard to comprehend all that was said because of lengthy and detailed account - truly one-of-a-kind and a lone warrior !
Read moreMy pick was a delicious Hungarian specialty with home-baked bread. When we ordered Chocolate cake for dessert, the portion was so huge we had hard time finishing it.
It was probably the longest time I ever spent at a restaurant, well it looked more like a home/museum with lots on display, as Sara shared lots of her life stories. In fact, she wants someone to listen to it and get it published as a book, more as an inspiration to others.

Amazing place - Edit
Sara, the owner is a vegan activist and an overall helpful and really attentive person. She was just starting to eat when we arrived but focused fully on us when we arrived. We ordered 2 sandwiches which tasted amazing and were large portions we could not finish. Sara provided lots of extra great info as well, she explained where everything is from money exchange to which fee free ATM to use, she also has great contacts in Wadi Rum and so on… lots of useful info.
Read moreLast but not least, she runs a cats sanctuary and if I remember correctly a large portion of the money you spend there go straight to helping cats and other animals. There a few cats in the shop as well, we fell in love with one and we wish we could have adopted her. 😊

My favorite part of Amman - Edit
My friend and I were visiting Amman from Los Angeles when we stumbled across a sign on a lamp post advertising a vegan restaurant. As we strolled down the street towards the restaurant, I stopped to feed a stray cat. A few feet away I hear a woman say, “I feed these cats every day!” That was my first interaction with Sara, the owner of Bayt Sara.
Read moreI can’t describe how profound my experience was at her restaurant. Bayt Sara is so much more than a simple dining spot- it is a mission, an educational resource, a community. Of course the food is absolutely incredible and the countless five star reviews confirm that, but getting to know Sara and the brilliant work she does is the Amman experience I’ll never forget.
I recommend everyone come to Bayt Sara, vegan or not. There is a neighboring vegetarian restaurant so make sure you enter the correct restaurant because at Bayt Sara, half of all profits go toward animal rescue and care! When I first stopped by Bayt Sara, there was a very small kitten outside her restaurant. Sara told me his name was Lucky because he was hit by a car two days ago. She took him to the vet and miraculously he was unharmed. Sara told me she has helped countless cats and dogs like Lucky.
When you walk into the restaurant, Sara will tell you a little about herself and then walk you through her daily menu of the day. All her ingredients are fresh and unprocessed and made from scratch. The quality is unmatched. Her products are sugar free too, which is amazing because the natural flavors of her dishes truly pop. The best chocolate cake I’ve ever had in my life was at this restaurant!
If I ever end up in Amman again, Bayt Sara will be my first stop😄
