Delicious afternoon tea!

We’ve been wanting to come here for a while as they are the only place I’ve found in Maidstone that offers a vegan afternoon tea. I thought we’d missed our chance when they closed last year but they reopened with new owners and we grabbed the chance to come here on Valentine’s Day.

It’s a cute little cafe with around 5 or 6 tables. There’s artwork by a local artist on the walls and they also sell cute gift cards. It has a nice, cosy feel and the staff are very warm and friendly.

They have a good selection of vegan offerings including breakfast and lunch options, and sauces on the counter with the vegan options clearly labelled. Note that if you get the afternoon tea you need to book this at least 24 hours in advance.

For just £19.95 each for our afternoon tea we were met with a huge array of sandwiches, scones, pastries and sweet treats! We also got a hot drink each and we both chose Earl Grey with oat milk. The owner ran us through all of the different foods telling us what each one was and how she’d veganised different foods. A lot of the food was homemade and it was clear she had gone to a lot of thought and effort in creating it all.

The sandwiches were Sweet chilli chicken with mayo, Cheese and onion chutney, and Ham and mustard. They were all really tasty and my personal favourite was the sweet chilli chicken. We also had homemade sausage rolls which were really good.

Next we had the scones, again these were homemade and really delicious! They were served with strawberry jam and crème fraiche and we both loved them!

Next up was chocolate dipped strawberries which were a bonus as it was Valentine’s Day, which I thought was a really nice touch.

Lastly we had a tray with Chocolate brownies, mini puff pastries and big round cheesecakes. We had the cheesecakes first and they were amazing! The base was rich and buttery and contrasted so well with the sweet, light layer on top, so good!

By this point we were really full so we had to take the brownies and puff pastries to go, but when we had them later they were both also delicious!

I would highly recommend visiting as the owner puts so much effort into providing really delicious vegan options, and at £19.95pp it is really excellent value!

Pros: Good vegan selection , Delicious afternoon tea, Great value

Must visit!

Love this place, our go to for vegan cakes and they also do yummy soups and vegan food, even if not on display, on request it’s no bother at all. Our little boys love going there too for their weekly cake treat! Shame we can’t give 5 stars as not fully vegan/vegetarian.

Pros: Lovely vegan cakes and cupcakes, Friendly and helpful staff, Great atmosphere
