Lovely family - Edit
Got there at the end of the day and was hoping to get a bahn mi (plus one for the train). Though they were out of the bread, I did get the last of some fried spring rolls (plus some for the train). Really lovely family, they even gave me some bananas for breakfast on the train. "We have sooooo many bananas!" the 5 y.o. told me before offering them up.

Best Food and Company in Hanoi! - Edit
What an incredible place! The food is excellent and, what is more, the company is the best you will have for your whole trip in Vietnam. The place is run by a vegan buddhist family so I got to sit and talk with their daughter, De, and talk about Canada, the snow, and the « duck song » (the one who waddles away because the lemonade stand doesn’t have grapes) while I had my last dinner in Vietnam. It was the highlight of my trip! I highly encourage going there and trying out what they have to offer and putting in a big order :). Also, be sure to ask your air bnb or wherever you are staying to add them to their lists of vegan recommendations in town!

Worth the trek - Edit
Small establishment in an alley about a 20 minute walk from the main old quarter area. I arrived probably around noon or 12:30, and was promptly greeted. Unfortunately, by that time all items were sold out except for two banh mi options. I had the "meatless banh mi" and it was tasty--the veggies were fresh, the faux meat was seasoned well, and the vegan mayo was nice. The other patrons seemed to be local workers on their lunch break, so I take that as a good sign! It was only 23K which was very reasonable considering how good quality it was.

Great banh my @ very good price (less than USD1). The owners are a very nice Buddhist couple.

Great food and lovely family - Edit
I was happy to be able to try the famous vietnamese streetfood and it was very much worth it. Especially the banh mi’s were flavourful, as well as the spring rolls. We were kindly greeted by the nice family who runs it and talked to the kids while waiting for our food. Thank you!

Local. Affordable. Good. - Edit
Perfect place to enjoy a super local, vegan and affordable dish. Family-owned, everything is cooked on demand and you can see they are cooking with passion. I really love this meal, especially the dumplings.

Loved it! - Edit
So happy I was around when here was open, I made the most of it and tried everything!
Read moreThe original Banh mi was amazing, I wanted another as soon as I had finished it. Nice to have the mushroom pate too and something other than tofu as the veggie option.
The spring rolls and samosa pillow thing you must also try. The dip is lovely.
I wanted to try a dessert too, I think it was the lotus one I had (middle bottom of the menu). I liked it, wasn’t too sweet and the gloopy texture was interesting.
Pros: So tasty, Nice family, Simple, small
Cons: Wish they were open later and on weekends!

Delicious sandwiches - Edit
One of the best banh mi I have ever had! Kept going back during my stay in Hanoi. I tried the original banh mi, Vietnamese samosa, fried spring rolls and lotus seed che and loved every single dish. This family run restaurant is off the main road, google maps should get you to the right location. There is a sign on the main road indicating where the restaurant is. The staff are very friendly.

Oké for the price - Edit
I had the protein banh mi and the pillow donut. The Banh mi was a bit disappointing. There wasn't that much stuff in it, and the seitan was hard and difficult to chew. The herb saus and vegetable pate on the bread was really nice though. The Pillow donut was really nice. Especially with the little cucumber dipping saus they brought with it. When I was there they didn't have the deserts.
