V good food - Edit
They have a separate vegan and veggie menu which has a lot of options. I had the mock duck starter and a side of broccoli as a main and it was delicious. Nice to see seitan on a menu as it’s not common but it’s so tasty!

Separate vegan menu - Edit
They have a separate vegan menu which is lovely to see although it’s been updated since the last one posted on Happy Cow so I’ll show pictures of the newer version. Staff were extremely helpful and food was delicious. Was a nice eat-out experience for Mother’s Day

Romantic restaurant - Edit
Lovely plush decor. It feels a bit special here. There is a separate vegan menu which is lovely not having to read through all the non vegan dishes. This place used to be called Havana Bank Square. I had white onion soup starter, he had mock duck. Starters were large. For main we both had Tuscan potatoes. The main portions was on the small side but as it was an oily dish it still filled us up. Very tasty and beautifully presented. We could have ordered extra sides or a pudding as there are a few vegan options for those too but we were going elsewhere for a drink and a show.. They do cocktails and have a wine list which we didn’t sample but you could definitely have a special occasion here and linger. Nice laid back background music which wasn’t too loud.

A Whole Separate Vegan/Vegetarian Menu! - Edit
After our walking tour of Liverpool, we chose Bank Square Brasserie for lunch because they had vegan options. We first looked at the menu posted at the entrance and saw just a few things that might be vegan, but when we inquired, we were handed a completely separate Vegan and Vegetarian menu.
Read moreThere were several options for starters and mains, and even a few desserts, but we both decided on the Mushroom Seitan Burger. It was a large burger, as you can see from the pic, and it ate a bit messy. To clarify, there are not mushrooms separate from the patty, but the patty is made from a combo of mushrooms and seitan, as far as we could figure. The patty wasn't super firm, but it also wasn't super mushy, as a lot of vegan patties can be. It had good texture, and similar to a non-vegan burger, the patty, and also some of the condiments, slid out with each successive bite. Messy. But also very tasty.
The staff were super friendly and answered all of our questions with a good knowledge of the dishes that were offered on the menu. This is always a good sign that they have a good understanding of the dietary needs of vegans and vegetarians. Kudos to restaurants offering vegan options that know a lot about what can and cannot be considered vegan/vegetarian. I'd try it again to taste some of their other menu options!
Pros: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, Good food, Separate vegan/vegetarian menu
Cons: Not nearly as many options as there could be

Nice choice of vegan food on a separate menu - Edit
There are a couple of options for vegans and some others for vegetarians. I was there for lunch and I had the homebaked sourdough bread with olives, the tasty winter stew (puy lentils, butternut squash and sweet potato) and vegan ice cream to finish. They also serve a mushroom risotto (which can be adapted for vegans), a spiced chickpea and tomato ragu with tenderstem broccoli, gnocchi with tomato and basil and vegan chocolate parfait with raspberry sorbet.
