Loved everything I got here. The quesadilla was so unique. Had toppings and seemed largely rice based. Very good. The appetizers are all great (got a big platter one time) and love love love the plantains.

Quiet spot for a Wednesday Afternoon - Edit
Bang Up to the Elephant opens at 4pm. It's a great after work quiet wind down location. The curried waffle fries are my go-to, but everything I've explored on the menu is solid good. As the evening rolls on, it picks up more traffic. Good food, good vibes.

Absolutely the best! - Edit
I love Caribbean food but it’s hard to find vegan options, so I was excited to try this place and it exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing, and the decor was fun and funky. The coconut bread, mofongo, and fried plantains blew my mind. I also had a couple curries that were hearty and delicious. Highly recommended!

Flavor Perfection - Edit
Bang Up To The Elephant has by far been the favorite food stop of our trip so far and even the 3 omnis in tow continue to rave about it.
Read moreOur group ordered the Bowl-o-lo Mein, Coconut Curry, Seitan Cubano, Bake & Chana and the Potato & Plantain Mofongo.
Mine was the Seitan Cubano and it was a perfect blend of flavors. While I’m typically not a fan of jackfruit, it’s pairing with the seitan ham, pickled onions and veg mayo was perfection.
Beyond the food, the space was gorgeous. If you’re even in Denver Colorado you’ve got to make a stop!
Pros: Everything!

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
1st time here. Very fun looking place. So many great food options (and drinks). I asked for suggestions from my server, and she was great communicating which dishes she absolutely loves. I started with an Under & Over cocktail which was absolutely tasty and added a little tingling sensation on your lips. Moved onto the mofongo. The fried and smooshed plantain and potato patty was good. I was expecting it to be sweet but it wasn’t. The flavor came in with the tomato-rum sauce. That sauce made the dish worth it. Finally, moved onto the Buss Up Shut. My mouth started watering as soon as she put the plate in front of me. You could smell the deliciousness that was about to go into my mouth. It was a very nice serving size. The food was hot and fantastic. Looking forward to coming back!

Delicious food and mixed drinks - Edit
My family of 5 went here and everyone loved their food! Dh had a mocktail that was so yummy and had fresh sprigs of mint in it. We ordered the curry fries as an appetizer per the other reviews here on HappyCow and they were not wrong-scrumptious! We all ordered the cassareep bowl because we figured we wanted to try something we had never tried before. It didn’t disappoint. We did ask for some hot sauce for some kick and they brought us some house made habanero sauce that was delish. The boys all ordered the plantains and said they put all other plantains they have had to shame! The slaw was crazy good as well. The only negative was that all the bread products contain gluten and they don’t have a sub for them. I didn’t end up missing the bread at all though.

We had the curry fries, cassareep bowl, bowl-o-lo-mein, coconut bread, and cocktails, and all of it was great! I really liked the interior decoration of the restaurant, too -- kinda seemed like an adult, hippy Rainforest Cafe.

Good curry fries - Edit
We went on a day where they were only serving starters and sandwiches, so we got the Bake & Chana and the Curry Fries. We thought the fries were great! They were good on their own and with the curry topping. The sandwich was good, but we probably wouldn't order it again. The fry bread was a great way to ensure the sandwich didn't end up soggy mess. Overall, we'd go back to try the entrees and enjoy the fun atmosphere!
