Attention to Detail

I got the specialized curry, which was the first option, and the flavor was very delicious. The assortment of vegetables was also much appreciated. I would definitely come back here and bring somebody. 10/10

Suuuper lecker

Wir wurden sehr warm empfangen und das Essen hat richtig, richtig lecker geschmeckt. Super Service und sehr schnelle Zubereitung.
Wenn wir noch mal in Tokio sind, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.

Pros: Geschmack, Ambiente, Service

Vegan curry farm to table experience

Not exactly sure if the curry would be considered Japanese per se. Open kitchen, farm to table experience. Although very oily, very flavorful. Free drink with Google review. Completely vegan restaurant. Walk in accepted as well as advanced reservations. Do not allow take away if you don’t finish the food, which is kind of frustrating given the high pricing. Good for table for 1 type of experience because it’s bar seating for everyone around the table. If you can’t eat a lot of food in one sitting, might not be worth the money.

Fantastic curry

Some of the vegetables in this curry were the best version of that vegetable that I’ve ever had.

A real (hidden) gem!

Everything was great! The atmosphere, the staff, but above all the food. Everything is prepared fresh right in front of you using local ingredients. I’d recommend it to everyone, even non-vegans. It was a truly wonderful dining experience!

Amazing!

One of the best meals I have had in Japan. There are two curry options, tried both with wife and struggled to tell the difference even though I upped the spice level on mine. So order the cheaper one. 🤷🏾

I think this is the first vegan restaurant I have been to where the locals (Japanese) outnumber the foreigners and it is by a considerable margin! We are the only foreigners at the moment and it is almost full!

Really tasty, beautifully presented, fantastic atmosphere

Tasty curry with an array or wonderfully cooked toppings. A little pricey but reflected in the quality.

Hidden gem

Although it is expensive, the taste is delicious. Small cozy place with counter seating and you can see your order being freshly made

A hidden gem

This is one of the best vegetarian spots in Tokyo. Nestled in a charming, quaint neighborhood, this beautiful and intimate restaurant instantly captivated me. The atmosphere evokes the warmth of an ancient European kitchen, making it an unforgettable dining experience.

Pros: Food, Vibe, Neighborhood

Excellent curry soup

Chef’s table style restaurant with limited seating inside, serving only one dish: Japanese curry soup which comes with a wealth of veggies inside and tempura, side portion of rice and a delicious fresh cabbage salad. Truly incredible, one of the best meals I had in Japan, but a small warning that this is indulgent and not exactly health food. We also reserved weeks in advance via Instagram. Chef speak some limited English.

Pros: The food, Ambiance

Cons: A little oily

Delicious (but be aware of the price)

Wonderful, sleek space, atmospherically lit. Amazing soup curry, delicious, filling. Just be aware of the price - 2000yen for the cheapest curry and much more for some of the others.

Curry soup

The restaurant only offers one dish: Curry Soup. You can choose between 2 different bases (regular or tomato-coconut). You also get to choose your spice level. I chose spice level 5 (the maximum) which wasn’t spicy at all. You can then choose toppings, such as veggies. According to the chef they grow the vegetables themselves. The curry soup is then served boiling hot.

All in all I thought the curry was tasty. The tomato coconut version was better than regular, although they were quite similar.

The place is lunch only as there is a different restaurant operating in the same venue during evenings. Menu is only in Japanese and staff speaks limited English, but between the google translate and the limited options we had no problem ordering.

You can find the restaurant by taking exit Nord 2 of Yoyogi-Uehara station nearby. There was no sign on the street but Yamada building name was clearly labeled.
